MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN--During a filibuster-style radio interview in Milwaukee Friday, senior Republican Congressman James Sensenbrenner (Wisconsin) charged that the State of Texas as a whole had a tendency to discriminate against minority voters and should be placed back under Holder Justice Department supervision thanks to his proposed legislation. After the 2013 U.S. Supreme Court decision to strike down Section 4 of the Voting Rights Acta policy that held a number of southern states like Texas and other jurisdictions structurally discriminatory toward minorities until proven otherwiseRep. Sensenbrenner vowed to revive the law. When pressed to justify his desire to again empower the Justice Department, he labeled Texas and Georgia as prime examples of statewide, structural discrimination against minority voters. Texas and Georgia are the two worst, Rep. Sensenbrenner argued. Texas and Georgia havent gotten the message. Rep. Sensenbrenners assertion that Texas is one of the worst involves sporadic instances of counties or voting jurisdictions not having adequate supply of foreign language ballots for an election. Out of Texas 254 counties, only seven instances have occurred in 15 years. According to Rep. Sensenbrenners interview, such instances justify his labeling the entire state as being discriminatory. Former Justice Department attorney and whistleblower J. Christian Adams broke down the harsh realities that would arise, should Rep. Sensenbrenner and the organized left pass his legislation. [Rep. Sensenbrenners] bill would empower corrupt leftist bureaucrats to manipulate or block state election integrity laws. The reason the left is so keen to have Mr. Sensenbrenners bill pass is because they know how partisan voting rights enforcement has become at DOJ. His bill will be used to help turn Texas blue if it passes. It will be used to erode the Constitutional balance of power the states have over their own elections.

“We have to get rid of the Republicans before we can do anything with Democrats.”
RINOS are the devil we don’t know as opposed to the RATs which are the devil we do! But you are right, it doesn’t do much to replace the RATs, so long as we are content to leave the RINOs/GOPe. Sure was disappointed that Texas “republicans” “chose” to keep Cornyn. That personifies the problem, and if you can’t get Texan “republicans” off their collective asses, it does not bode well for other races where we need to get rid of a RINO.
What business is it of his what Texas does?
God Bless Texas!!!!!!!!!!!
The GOP has an endless supply of idiots.
Amen.
Actually RINOs are democrats and RATs are communists. Both camps have been around for quite a while.
Otherwise, why do you think they call em RINOs?
The Republican Party has neither the means nor the will to discipline wayward members. Can you imagine any Democrat representative departing from orthodoxy and succeed in evading the ideological gulag?
If one explores the Democrats power structure as outlined by David Horowitz one sees that a Democrat Representative or Senator has very little option but to follow the party line. Hence, we get Democrats from red states supporting Obamacare time and again. If the elected Democrat departs from orthodoxy he will lose funding, he will be primaried, his adversary will be financed, he will lose commission chairmanships, he will be shunned, and he will not find a sinecure in the academic/Government/media/ complex after he is ejected from office.
If one looks at the control, the very sinister tentacles, with which George Soros exerts such a controlling influence on the Democrats and their media, one can begin to understand much of their success in recent years.
The Republican Party cannot be more adrift. It has neither accommodated the participation of the grassroots nor has it effective top-down management by the establishment Rinos. It's like a football team without a quarterback or an army without a general.
We are naked before our enemies; we have no means of enforcing discipline of the ranks; we do not heed our base and we certainly do not respect our titular leaders.
Here's why Phil Gramm couldn't win the New Hampshire primary in 1996, because it's an acceptable prejudice, in parts of the Union, to hate southern accents, whether they come out of the mouths of whites or blacks.
For the most part, Sensenbrenner gets it right. This however, is just stupid.
Sensenbrenner...the GOP-E loser who wrote the Patriot Act.
Because of the constant brainwashing against the freedom to discriminate, people's consciences have been trained to believe there's something wrong with the choice to exclude a person or a group. So a major hurdle is to correct and mend this evil (guilty) conscience individually and collectively, as a society.
Martin Luther King (MLK) was a strong influence to forward this evil conscience about discrimination - an individual's right to choose associations. MLK confused the individual morality issue of choosing to exclude blacks with the legal and constitutional issue of the federal government's power and authority to interfere with an individual's choices. (MLK has become some sort of "untouchable" - "Oh, how could you say that about MLK?")
So now, discrimination is generally thought of as a bad word. In American consciousness and lexicon, discrimination is a "bad" thing, making no distinction between an individual's legal right to discriminate and his private moral decision about whether it is "right" to do so. This evil conscience needs to be countered and corrected whenever and wherever possible because an individual has every legal right and duty to discriminate. This is not to be confused with an individuals moral right and duty to examine how and where they exercise their right which is an issue between that person and his God and no one else. And the federal government has no constitutional power to interfere with either an individuals legal right or moral right.
So an important step to in taking back our freedoms is changing the consciousness of as many people as possible in the country from thinking that discrimination is "bad" to realizing that discrimination is our God-given right of freedom of choice. Not a five-minute job and may very well require God himself to do that. But people like me will shout it from the mountaintops every chance we get.
Seven instances in 15 years? Can anyone say “accidental”? In the many years I worked and taught in Texas elections, I never came in contact with anyone who would “on purpose” not have enough ballots in Spanish or English.
There have been many cases in the past of more people showing up at a polling place than there are paper ballots if those are being used. This is provided for by the Texas Election Code. A judge calls the election administrator or county clerk, whichever is running the election or in a primary where the county chairman is running the election, the judge calls him/her. Ballots are printed on a copy machine and each ballot given a different number. Those are taken to the polling place and the judge signs the back of each ballot making them legal ballots.
Also, in a strange case where new ballots couldn’t get there, a judge may use a blank piece of paper and make a hand written ballot, give it a number and sign it on the back and it’s a legal ballot.
Also, of course, if machines are used, they don’t run out of ballots.
People should learn how elections work in Texas before they shoot off their mouth.
Also, in Texas, a law requires a Spanish speaking person be available to interpret English for a Spanish speaking person if he/she needs help.
Excellent post, word for word. BUMP TO THE TOP.
Thank you. We need to put up speakers around the country and shout it from the rooftops...and pray alot...
Another senile RINO heard from. In the past two elections in which IDs were required, participation of Blacks and Hispanics INCREASED, you old fool.
I was just going to say he was senile...however, if he authored the so-called Patriots’ Act, he is an utter moron.
They otta throw Tejas out of the Untied States! That would show them.
GOP is a dead party IMO. What looks like motion within in it is the writhing of grave worms in its carcass - like this yankee putz.
