Vietnamese authorities searching waters for the missing Boeing 777 jetliner spotted an object Sunday that they suspected was one of the plane's doors, as international intelligence agencies joined the investigation into two passengers who boarded the aircraft with stolen passports.

Nam saying this????
ALternatively, someone dumped their refrigerator in a way that would pi** off Al Gore.
“On Saturday, the foreign ministries in Italy and Austria said the names of two citizens listed on the flight’s manifest matched the names on two passports reported stolen in Thailand.
“I can confirm that we have the visuals of these two people on CCTV,” Malaysian Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said”
Good.
Might just be a shoe bomber, or a successful trial run of a new component explosive, something that has to be mixed, by itself each component may be undetectable, but get two or three or more passengers all adding their parts, you get your explosive.
Fake boobs, prosthetic limbs, suppository, etc.
I guess I missed it but that’s the first time I recall reading that the passports went missing in Thailand.
Lot’s of, uh, “unusual” things go on in Thailand.
This is new info, for me. Those are the two people whose passports had long been reported stolen, and were listed among the passengers.
If the plan was to blow up the plane out of Malaysia, it doesn't seem like they would have booked further travel. Not impossible, I guess.
Nah.... just a spontaneous explosion of the center fuel tank.
Not really. The only way they could go via China without obtaining visas would be transit. Should there be a finding that terrorism is involved, then transit passengers may have to obtain visas in the near future!
Booking further travel would be a way to avoid needing to obtain a Visa to enter China. A visa application for stolen passports would have raised eyebrows with the chinese authorities. China has a program where travelers passing through from certain countries are not required to have visas. People with European passports are afforded this convenience.
That is what bugs me too. If you are going to blow up the plane, why spend the money for other destinations?
In this day and age of the world wide interweb, how in the h-e-double toothpicks does not one but two persons board an aircraft with stolen passports? Don’t they have computers in Malaysia?
Perhaps you answered your own question. Maybe they booked it through because they figured it made them look more normal.
or as the post right above mine stated was because they didn’t need a visa
Just after this story first broke yesterday, and they said they’d found 2 oil slick but no debris field, I thought maybe terrorists had pilots dump fuel, fly low to avoid radar and put down at a field in VN or Thailand. Now, with possible door to plane found, that doesn’t seem likely. Not looking hopeful for all those passengers and crew.
Paging James Kahlstrom, please pick up the white courtesy mxxxxx fxxxing liar’s phone.
“Not looking hopeful for all those passengers and crew.”
It never was once it was reported missing. This ain’t the movies.
Found door? I wouldn’t think these things float, but I suppose their could be a sealed portion?
Or would it be less suspicious to book travel that appeared you were going home from your trip? Sounds good to me. After all, the El Al experts do look for such things and ask probing questions like where are you going, what were you doing in Malaysia, etc. Going home looks very normal.
“Found door? I wouldnt think these things float, but I suppose their could be a sealed portion?”
Aircraft doors often contain the evac slides and the bottles to inflate them.
