Ohio 5th Grader Suspended for Pretending Finger Was a Gun?!
Fox News ^ | March 4, 2014 | Staff

Did an Ohio elementary school jump the gun in its punishment of a 10-year-old?

Devonshire Alternative Elementary School in North Columbus, Ohio, suspended a fifth grader for three days after he pointed his finger in the shape of a gun at another student’s head.

Paul Entingh said his 10-year-old son, Nathan, was just messing around during science class.

"He asked his friend to borrow a pencil and when his friend dropped it, my son Nathan was playing around and he did that with his fingers. Pointed it at the kid, said 'boom,'" Entingh told Fox 28.

Paul and Nathan were on “Fox and Friends” this morning to discuss the ordeal.

Nathan said his teacher told him to get out of the classroom and go to in-school suspension for the rest of the day.

“Truthfully, I don’t know what message [the school is] trying to send, other than not to be a kid, not to have any fun,” Paul said.

Left within a political realm theirs alone, liberals will always gravitate towards that that which is the most nonsensical, ludicrously extreme.

I suppose if a kid would somehow be able to assume the shape of a mushroom cloud, he'd find himself in violation of innumerable international laws, treaties, especially the law most recently passed by the UN and the US, that forbids the impersonation of a nuclear weapon by wearing clothing reminiscent of any such device and/or accompanied by vocal mimicry of bomb detonations.

This has nothing to do with danger or threats. It is truly about trying to impress certain political views from a very young age.

Liberals hate guns. Liberals run schools. Liberals are trying to indoctrinate kids to believe that anything having to do with the mere concept of guns is wrong and will incur punishment.

And they are hoping it will stick. They used incrementalism to take over the public schools, and now they want to use incrementalism to remove guns from the culture.

I would view it as a sign from God that this precious kid doesn’t need to be in the vicious public school system and enroll him in a private school.

The teacher’s Room 101 punishment should include being restrained whilst having finger and toy guns pointed into her face.

Or having a cage affixed to her head while while freshly spent cartridge casings, reeking of burnt propellant are poured into the apparatus.

Normally, there are few punishments or tortures I’d wish upon people in a million years, but these irrational anti-gun types have pushed me way beyond that.

That teacher should be fired for sending an armed student out into the halls.

Another child suffers because of neglectful parents.

The boy’s parents left him in the care of strangers, without doing sufficient investigation as to how he would be treated. They have themselves to blame, and owe their son an apology.

The abusers will not be punished, of course. They are, after all, agents of an abusive state.

This action by the Teacher control freak is analogous to the laws enacted by liberal law makers banning e-Cigs.

As long as the kid claimed that nose picking was an alternate sex act he’d get a reward.

I would hardly equate the harmless pointing of a finger with a device used to deliver addictive drugs.

Weird but it is a private school so their rules can be whatever they want them to be.

My 6 year old Grandson loves to kill Zombies, fortify the house and mow them down, chases them around the house.

He is a little Boy doing things that little Boys do, jump in mud puddles, make snow forts. When I was a kid 60 years ago I killed Japs and Germans, my old Man killed Indians.

Let kids be kids.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

I vividly remember in first grade indoor recess, several of us boys proceeded to assemble tinkertoys into machine pistols and then made war upon one another, much to the consternation of the poor teacher.

Now, imagine if you will, tele-transporting that action into today's 1st grade classroom...

Teacher's head go boom!

AND in 3rd/4th grade we brought our toy guns to school for recess fun.

AND in high school we brought shotguns to school in our cars and were excused early for hunting season, PS, we also has ammo...

I miss the sanity of the seventies!

Oh, I forgot - this sort of thing never happens in government schools. /s ;-)

Schooling is compulsory, by government mandate. With a bit of research, you’ll learn that it’s a means of controlling the populace, and that private schools are no different from public schools in meeting that objective. It no longer matters who pays the bills, only who controls the agenda, the textbooks, and the training of teachers.
