hamden >> Seniors and U.S. Rosa L. DeLauro planned their next move Friday as they looked for ways to keep UnitedHealthcare and federal agencies accountable after the large insurer cut Yale-New Haven Hospital and more than 2,200 doctors around the state from their Connecticut networks.
DeLauro, D-3, said she will ask the federal General Accounting Office to investigate the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services on how it determined the remaining practitioners will be enough to serve patients and whether UHC gave the required notice to Greater New Haven clients.
The letter has been signed by all five of Connecticuts House delegation.
Holding a stack of correspondence going back to October, DeLauro said UHC has been evasive and recently went to radio silence on their decision that will sever longtime relationships between doctors and patients when access to the hospital ends on April 1.
April Cervero, 68, said the conflicting information she received was Kafkaesque.
The CMS, according to Dr. Steven Wolfson, a cardiologist with Yale Medical Group, has so far rejected allowing seniors with the AARP UnitedHealth Care Medicare Advantage policies to switch to traditional Medicare or another Medicare Advantage plan

That’s nothing, Obama told Ukraine they could keep their boarders...........
If you put the Federal Government in charge of the Sahara Desert, within a year there would be a shortage of sand.
Now the Federal Government in in charge of health care!! ??
United Health Care’s goal is to become the #1 implementor of Obamacare. They will remain profitable and quasi-private like the companies that helped out Hitler. They will even run the death panels except it will be automated (computerized).
Many of them probably voted for this. Harry Reid would say these seniors are lying. Perhaps they should contact their AARP representatives.
OblahMaosCare did Connect it cuts. Mission Accomplished...
Stupid sheeples and silly liberal women voters yearning for Big Govt protectors to give them healthcare ‘security’... Dupes all.
Would someone please post a photo of DeLauro? I was telling my wife about the utter ugliness of this woman and need proof. The OldPossum thanks you.

The other version is that if they built a bridge in the Sahara, within days of completion there would be @@@@@@# on it fishing
Embrace the suck.
United Healthcare is sold through AARP, a big supporter of Obamacare. I’ve often heard that AARP was created as a vehicle to sell insurance to seniors. Because of my specific needs, I was advised to select United as my Medicare supplemental insurance. Odd that AARP membership was required as a condition of signing up although I was allowed to let it lapse after the first year. Also a strange coincidence that Medicare payments are being cut which in turn will require more reliance on supplemental plans leading to higher enrollment and greater profits for those remaining insurance companies. Of course the governmental promise to cover losses ensures insurance companies will still be around but taxpayers will carry a double burden through higher insurance costs and higher taxes. Does anyone see a conflict here or perhaps collusion between insurance companies and the Democratically controlled congress that passed this gosh awful bill?
See my post #11.
It is so sad that those who voted LIB/DIM are suffering, no? Bwaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Really seems to be from another world.
That seals it. She is involved. BTW, The United Care physicians left because they were going to be forced to go into HMOs which is not good for their patents nor them instead of sticking with the plans their patients and they liked. The HMOs are a fate worse than death. Try getting even a doctor’s appointment. You can’t. I remember them way back in the 80’s. Awful plans. A lot of companies tried them. Most of them stopped them before the month was out because they were so bad. So, I suspect this is nothing but a made up show of lies which the dems are so famous for.
No thanks.
Too late.
De Lauro is a waste of wrinkled skin. Not having read this terrible bill before voting for it, now she has her panties in a twist when the Medicare chickens are coming home to roost.
She wants United Health Care to bail out Obama and these Leftist Democrats. One thing you can guaran-dang-tee is that those senior citizens will be out to vote this fall, walkers and wheelchairs and all.
