Always the case. The young are always more liberal and less religious until they get married, have children and get a good job and they find out that their lofty liberal ideas are not realistic. Look at the disaster of the Baby Boom Generation....that generation has made America what it is today.....Good God Help Us All!!!
Alabama sent its best generation off to die in places like Malvern Hill. Today when not even allowed to publically honor that generation.
Look at who we are supposed to honor.
The Baby Boomers are not the main reason this country is in decline. If you factor in age, the BB’s were not able to start influencing this country until around 1964-66 (when the one’s born at end of war around 1945-46) when they turned 18+ years old. The majority of boomers did not come of age until the late 60’s and 70’s. The wheels of communism, socialism, and moral decay were already well entrenched by that time.
If you want to isolate the debt issue as the reason you can. While it was on the BB’s to not over borrow more than they could pay, the banks were controlled by people of the greatest generation that allow poor lending habits to evolve.
I tire of this premise that BB’s are the reason we are failing.
Please go back to coordinating nap time. The Boomers destroyed the world crap is getting old. Boomers gave you the PC, cellphones, iwhatever’s. I’m guessing they raised you, fed you, helped pay for your education and are or will be providing you with baby sitting services. As a group Boomers are well educated, hard working, center right people. Way too many your age have bought the liberal line that all Boomers were at Woodstock, moved to Haight- Ashbury, lived in communes and spent their time smoking dope. I’m 62 years old and know not one person in my Boomer age group that fits that liberal/Hollywood stereotype. Get over it.
Generations don’t change much, ageing and responsibility help people mature, but it doesn’t make a generation of 66% Obama voters into boomers for instance.
The boomers you attacked, voted 52% for Nixon, fought the Vietnam war as volunteers and produced almost 9.5 million veterans, and were the most supportive age group of the Vietnam war.
The problem with this generation is that if they are educated and ambitious, they aren't interested in getting married or having children, or if they are, they're delaying both until their mid-30's or later. Then there's a large group of functionally illiterate who have lots of kids, but don't pay for them, and then don't get married so they won't have to start paying for their own kids. The number that even *want* to get married and have children is dwindling, and of those that want to, many can't find partners, and many more can't make it work long enough to launch their first child to college with marriage intact.
The very thing that in generations past would help youths evolve from idealistic, naive, and liberal to realistic, wise, and conservative, are the very things that they're NOT doing--because they've been told by those on the left that marriage, parenthood, and religion are bad things that will cramp their style and ruin their lives, and are things to be avoided. We've already lost, but most of us will be dead before the full repercussions come to light.
