An atheist group is suing to prevent the World Trade Center Cross from being put on display at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.

The 17 foot steel crossbeam was found in the wreckage at Ground Zero in the days after the September 11 attacks. For many, the cross was a symbol of hope during a time of tragedy. …

Can we get rid of all representations of Earth Worship at the memorial? When is America going to tire of these jerks?

Pray America wakes up

Are these atheists completely out of their minds??? Are they so beholden to their liberal agenda that they have no thinking or reasoning ability?

They want to sue to keep this cross out of a museum devoted to Sept. 11th

How in the sam hill can a museum piece be said to have anything to do with separation of church and state, which atheists normally sue over?

Are atheists that afraid of someone seeing a cross emerge from the horrors of Sept 11th, and find some religious inspiration ? If the intellectual arguments for atheism are so strong , what do they have to fear from someone seeing this cross??????

I remember a report at the time mentioned that there were many other crosses/cross beams all over the wreckage. This one was probably the largest of all of them. One worker said it was like the crosses at a cemetery, that’s how many there were. So keeping this one, of many that were there, is a significant part of what remained. I believe the others were hauled away for destruction. This is an historical artifact, and must be preserved.

The creation of that cross was an act of God in the middle of an act of pure evil. I’d say it’s outside the jurisdiction of that court.

How about blithely offering to let them put up an appropriate symbol. Did any blank pieces of paper get saved from the wreckage?

Atheism is not a religion. They have no standing. IMHO, of course.

they can just think of the letter “t” when they see it. you know for “trade”.

imagine what heaven’s going to be like without atheists around. i’d rather they become believers but the ones here forcing their views on us and driving us out of public life, i won’t miss them if they don’t become believers.

2 pieces of metal forming a T. It is only a cross to those who believe. Atheists need not apply.

Exactly. It's hilarious that these idiots are even acknowledging that it is a cross. Instead they are arguing that it *is* a cross.

How about putting a atheist on a cross and display that?

We should remove the letters t and x from the alphabet just in case.

Sick. Where’s the “tolerance”. I say take the cross and shove it up their you-know-what first and then display it.

To hell with the judges.
