So if we had a different leader, we would go to war with Russia, or Russia wouldn’t do this? Why would they not do this, no matter who was in charge here, as it is obvious we wouldn’t go to war over it. I am as unimpressed with Obama as anyone, but this is all about Putin.
There are a lot of things that could have prevented or stopped Putin, none of which included a shooting war.
Russia is a 3rd World Country desperate to sell the only thing anyone else sees they have as valuable, Natural Gas.

You don’t have to go to war. You just have to respond in a robust way to terroristic acts like invading the neighbor of a NATO country with a fifth column. Significant economic sanctions and NATO redeployment for an opening move would have given Putin pause. It must be made clear to Putin that if he wants to be a terrorist it is going to be painful and costly. That hasn’t happened so he will continue escalating. His adventures won’t end until we have shooting in a NATO country. Then what?
If our administration hadn’t signaled its weakness ever since 2008, we wouldn’t be here at all
now we are helpless in the face of aggression
no, we can’t go to war now, we couldn’t fight our way out a wet paper bag at this point with our depleted armed forces, but it is a very similar situation to the one that started in 1938, so let’s see where we are in about 4-5 years, how much Russia has gobbled up
“So if we had a different leader, we would go to war with Russia, or Russia wouldnt do this?”
I think if we had a real leader, our intelligence agencies would have been focusing on this and building up scenarios rather than focusing on bugging video ports and iPhones of heterosexual Christian men.
