Dennis Kucinich Blames US Meddling for Russian Invasion

Russia's invasion of Ukraine was spurred by American behind-the-scenes actions, says former Ohio Congressman and Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich.

Fox News host Bill O'Reilly on Tuesday accused Kucinich of being a pacifist because of his opposition to the Iraq War, but Kucinich countered he believed that war was wrong, but not all U.S. military action is so.

O'Reilly then asked how Kucinich would have handled the Ukraine crisis had he been elected president.

"What I'd do is not have USAID and the National Endowment for Democracy working with U.S. taxpayers' money to knock off an elected government in Ukraine, which is what they did," Kucinich answered. "I wouldn't try to force the people of Ukraine into a deal with NATO against their interest or into a deal with the European Union, which is against their economic interest."

"So it's the USA's fault that Putin rolled in? We made them do it?" O'Reilly asked.

"Bill O'Reilly, if you don't believe in cause and effect I don't know what I can do for you," Kucinich responded.

Kucinich said the United States has been involved covertly and behind the scenes with the CIA and two government foreign aid groups, the National Endowment for Democracy and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to "stir up trouble in Ukraine."

He didn't specify what the groups had done, but said the National Endowment for Democracy had sponsored 65 programs. He said the United States should stay out of Ukraine's affairs and let their people decide their future without outside interference.

As a result, "you've got neo-Nazis that are in control," Kucinich said.

Here is another link to a leaked conversation between the Estonian foreign minister Urmas Paet and EU honcho Catherine Ashcroft, in which Paet says he’s been told the snipers on the Maidan were not operating on orders from Yanukovitch and had shot police as well as protesters. This does not seem to phase Ashcroft who explains that the Maidan doctor making this claim isn’t a “politician”.

The kenyan has no interest in foreign affairs. The idea that the west masterminded some vast conspiracy in Ukraine is silly. Sad to see this Soros Derangement Syndrome stuff on FR while a murdering KGB thug is terrorizing his neighbors. He is the real enemy of Liberty in this drama.

IF the above is true, the ‘west’ has dirty digits someplace. What is sad is it is nigh on to impossible to find any ‘good’ guys anywhere.

Putin vs. the West reminds me of Michael Corleone in that scene in The Godfather Part 3 where he says "just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in".

Is that satisfactory or will you report me to the neocon gestapo anyway?

No, I would tell you to head over to the DUmp if you are going to 1) call conservatives gestapo and 2) bootlick a KGB thug who murders his political opponents and rolls tanks over his neighbors.

But the US did not occupy Cuba.

Only because the American proxies were defeated at the Bay of Pigs. The US had every intention of "occupying" Cuba. The occupying force was to be American proxies, and not the actual American army.

It did? Then why did it abandon the anti-Communist Cubans and allow them to be defeated?

It's more like the US had ever intention of helping Castro destroy his opposition.

I know. I have a 42 year old conservative niece who was listening. She called me up and said what was going on started to click when she listened to that interview.

This interview is not what people may think it is.

O’Reilly was more insufferable than usual. I almost always disagree with Kucinich, but he is always polite, and O’Reilly is always an ass.

-——By crossing that red line, the Obama administration has ensured that the relationship between the United States and Russia will never be friendly again.——

Well, I don’t subscribe to that view. There is Obama and there is America....... not the same. Then there is time.

The world knows that Obama is an ideological buffoon. That is also true of the American Idol before Hollywood contestants that form his administration. Those who have no yellow ticket are laughed at in diplomatic circles.

So, given that there is sunshine, the world can make hay as it pleases knowing that in perhaps a few years (time) things will be different. For now though make hay while the sunshines.
