Arrogance: Mocked by late-night comedians and "experts" alike, Sarah Palin could see from her front porch that candidate Obama's response to Moscow's invasion of Georgia would encourage it also to invade Ukraine.
As the Weekly Standard's Stephen Hayes notes in a tweet, administration officials told CNN's Barbara Starr that the arrival of officers of the 76th Chernihov Storm Troops Division and their dispersal across key choke points in Ukraine, including Crimea, wasn't an "invasion" but an "uncontested arrival."
Whatever this Russian version of an "overseas contingency operation" is called, it was foreseen as the inevitable consequence of electing a president who believed America was the last colonial power and whose withdrawal from the world stage would get rid of a major distraction to his fundamental transformation of America.

Yea it’s gutsy in an Obama killed Bin Laden sorta way.
I want Sarah to get elected. How shallow is that?
You're just hoping for unicorns, rainbows and skittles...ain't gonna happen.
Sarah can win...but it's gonna take a change.
Your failure to see that might mean that you are the one who is shallow.
Open your eyes...
I don’t care how shallow or deep you are. That’s your business. But if you are going to help spread the same crap that led the fence sitters to fall onto the lib side, then don’t be surprised to get blowback.
Not sure why some people fixate on such stupidity when it’s ideas that matter. Not sure why some people seem intent to keep rehashing it either. But the stupid of it clearly burns.
In the latest promo ad for Sarah’s next Alaska series, it is readily apparent that she’s worked on her presentation. She definitely needs a bit of practice but the talent is there and talent will out.
That said, Sarah's ideas are indeed right...but it only matters if she can get elected.
And that is gonna take a little adjustment on her part. Singers need training and so do speakers.
It won't take much, but she needs to bite the bullet and go for Prime Time...cause she's not quite ready for it.
I don’t see any harm in her getting voice coaching at all. I just don’t see it mattering now.
I still believe she can make a comeback. I know it’s a long shot, but I wish she would try.
As do I. I don’t think it’s a longshot though. Look at that poll 2DV or someone posted yesterday. 70% support.
May be an outlier but even if it were, it indicates more than a little support. And thats with her off trail and largely out of view...while the attacks from the left continue unabated.
I think we have reached the stage that many former non supporters would vote for her just out of spite for the GOP and the left.
I’d take that. Wouldn’t trust them but I’d take the votes to get her in the first time.
In my opinion, Maggie is right up there with Churchill.
I believe Sarah could be even greater than Ronnie.
We need her but first she must win!
“The Governor-candidate was mocked by Romneys surrogates.
Has there been an apology, yet?”
Not on FR.
She shows spectacular political acumen overall and there is no reason she couldn’t eventually get to where RR and MT are. If she wants to.
If she doesn’t, I wont blame her a bit. If I looked at my supposed base over the last several years and seen how committed they are to principle, I’d probably stay home until they showed me otherwise. The crappy part is that there are plenty still assured lesser evil is the way to go.
We have that now so they are not likely to do any different. They should be happy they got exactly what they voted for.
Sarah could save this country, but she doesn't have the backers that Maggie had.
I don't really know the answer, but I am frustrated in that I know she could pull our national fat out of the fire. But no one is coming to her defense as they did Maggie's.
I don't really expect Sarah to have ALL the answers, but I wonder where are those who recognize what she is capable of...where are those who realize how much we need her?
I simply asked two questions. Did she agree with Bush’s reaction to Putin invading Georgia? And what does she recommend now? I know she said this back in 2008. Like you said, anyone could have seen it coming. To me this falls under the same category as Palin tried to warn everyone about Obama. Great! Now, what is her solution? Re-elect McCain?
I promise to never again say anything about Palin. I really don’t like to see grown men cry.
Excellent summation.
I would add that it got to this point, in part because an elected lapdog GOP filled with the so loved ‘lesser evils’ let it get to this point and did exactly nothing to stop it. They did exactly nothing to effect this at all. They stood back and let Zero do his thing.
Which is WHY lesser evil really isn’t lesser at all. It is what it is folks.
Im going to say something the may piss people off..you know one of Palin main abilty. .she can read people particularly aggressive men and weak men..for a simple reason..she a hot looking women the grew up in a rough and tough male environment ..see had to be a fast read of agressive men to survive in business and politics. .scan the room see the threat and the limp d—ks..Putin vs Obama’s. .she could peg them by instinct
Let them be pissed. It’s true. If they don’t like dealing with reality, there’s always DU.
It’s too late to do anything. We have no leverage.
The time to act was years ago before the Russian Bear became emboldened by Western weakness. As has been stated elsewhere, Putin is positioned to inflict far more harm on western Europe than anything they could ever hope to do to him.
Checkmate.
Much as I am enjoying watching two Palin supporters argue about her, I feel pressed to point out that there was a revolution in Ukraine. Is everyone just ignoring the news of the last few weeks? At no time did Palin ever say, “If there was a revolution in Ukraine, Russia would invade.”
I seem to remember that Putin tried to buy the allegiance of Ukraine’s leader, and succeeded, only to have the pro-Western protesters erupt in reaction.
She’s not Thatcher and she’s not Karnak the Magnificent.
The voice is fine. Women have different voices from men. They have to expend more effort to reach the same volume. I heard her speak last fall in New Jersey and she was fine. That’s not the point.
