I wonder how many of these children were not vaccinated for polio?
Many of them were for sure vaxed, and the other ones are not known by us. They might all be vaxed. The three that have come forward appear to be Caucasian families and we don’t know anything about the other.
The most important thing for us CA parents is to read up on who avoided polio in the day, because if this is a similar virus but not covered by the vax, we should know what doesn’t allow the virus to make us sick.
Definitely make sure kids have basic antiviral supplements like good quality vitamins c and d, at therapeutic doses. Virus don’t stick around as much when the child’s blood level is over 60. Until we know more, just do what you can to prevent any viruses, and make sure your child’s gut biome is strong: natural probiotics like fermented foods, and sources of resistant starch in his diet to feed those good bacteria.
