... The case highlighted Florida's "stand your ground" law, which makes it easier for individuals to use deadly force in self defense by removing the shooter's duty to retreat from a confrontation.
She began her speech by noting that Connecticut law does not have a similar "stand your ground" provision. That, she said, is a good thing.
"It does not work, it is not fair and that's the reason why my purpose, my life work, is to go around the country" and push for the repeal of such policies, she said.

I will stand my ground against anything you or anyone else brings into this world.
I do not fear you.
This woman and her sperm donor should be charged with
“EXPLOITING A DEAD CHILD”
or, to be more specific
“EXPLOITING A DEAD, NEGLECTED CHILD WHO BROUGHT ABOUT HIS OWN DEMISE”
wait... isn’t her son the AGGRESSSOR int he ‘stand your ground’ case (if there was one)
So she is advocating that people don’t shoot thugs like her son when they get attacked by them?
These people are beyond stupid.
I had a dream last night about a kid who rode the church bus. His name is also Trayvon. He’s probably about 17 now, Trayvon Martin’s age when he got popped. Like Trayvon Martin, he has worthless parents (if you can call them that). What’s really sad, is when you spend time with these kids you can see that they all have soft hearts, just like your own kids, who want someone to care about them. But he was angry. Angry that he and his siblings stunk because there were about 5 pit bulls living in there house. Angry that he didn’t know who his father was. My guess is that little bus kid has morphed into something much like the Trayvon who got himself shot that evening.
Here is a copy of a Monday, February 24 letter I sent to the Director of News and Editorial Communications for the University of Connecticut, Kristen Cole. There has been no response.

Apparently the University of Connecticut endorses the lie.
Good point. There is a lot of hurt in the world. Being born the victim of terrible parents is one of them. God’s love heals all wounds. Thank you for the counter perspective.
“Yeah, it’s a great thing for the bad guys.”
Of whom her son was a member.
Ding! Ding! Ding! Winner
Well, I am sure she is not doing this for all the money she is making with her ‘speaking engagements’. Right? It has nothing to do with that.
$$$$$$$ Chaching!
Wonder how many people she attacked while she was there?
These people are not gonna let this go until they win. That’s the pattern.
Trayvon tried playing the knock-out game with the wrong guy...
This woman needs to go on back home and TRY to raise her other son. By the way, I wonder who is raising him, while she gallivants around the country? I also wonder if the remaining son will turn out like his thug brother Trayvon? Oh, stupid me, he probably will.
What is is with the no-name psychopathic people using the death of thier children for their own gain? Semehow because they had a kid die they are supposed to be an expert at something? Grieve by all means, but if you don’t know the facts please be quiet and quit agitating!
UConn has this lady as a speaker?
Lordy,they must be desperate.
Maybe they’ll award her an honorary doctorate this spring.
