Did Palin Predict Current Ukraine Trouble? Warned if Obama elected, Putin'd be encouraged to invade

Sarah Palin warned in 2008 that if Obama were elected, Putin would be encouraged to invade Ukraine. At the time, she was mocked.

Did former Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin predict six years ago the current situation in Ukraine? It appears as though she did.

On Friday, hours before Russia’s parliament gave President Vladimir Putin the formal go ahead to send forces to Ukraine, the Breitbart website reminded those who may have forgotten that during the 2008 presidential campaign, Palin warned that if then-Senator Barack Obama were elected president, his "indecision" and "moral equivalence" may encourage Russia's Vladimir Putin to invade Ukraine.

“After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama's reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia's Putin to invade Ukraine next,” Palin said at the time.

Breitbart further noted that Palin was mocked over those comments by the Foreign Policy magazine and its editor Blake Hounshell, who now is one of the editors of Politico magazine.

Hounshell wrote then that Palin's comments were "strange" and "this is an extremely far-fetched scenario."

"And given how Russia has been able to unsettle Ukraine's pro-Western government without firing a shot, I don't see why violence would be necessary to bring Kiev to heel," Hounshell wrote at the time.

Palin made her remarks after Obama's running mate Joe Biden warned Obama supporters to "gird your loins" if Obama is elected because international leaders may test or try to take advantage of him.

In the 2012 election race, Obama’ Republican rival Mitt Romney was mocked over similar comments he made about Russia....

This one from The Wire is pretty derisive, and it's interesting to see how her predictions have all come true and how each of them has a convenient reason for being a good thing according to the obvious dim-bulb who wrote it.

From the article:

1. That Obama will sit down with the world's worst dictators without conditions, and meet with Iranians.

--Article sez: "we got a good deal out of Iran!"
--Reality: Iran is doing whatever the hell they want as long as they look/sound like they're playing along

2. Invading the sovereign territory of Pakistan.

--Article sez: "yeah, we did--to get Bin Laden!"
--Reality: Pakistan is not an ally in any way and they were supremely pissed about the public nature of the incursion since Obama couldn't wait to get in front of a camera. This rush to claim credit jeopardized our only real supply line in and out of Afghanistan.

3. Opposed the surge in Iraq, and wants to pull troops out which would just mean that troops would have to go back in.

Article sez: "he's reducing our troops' presence to almost nothing--we're out of Iraq now, isn't it great?"
Reality: Iraq is in chaos and its Shi'ite majority (and government) is warming up to big geopolitical ME player Iran.

4. That Putin might invade Ukraine after Georgia, as above.

Article sez: "Well...this isn't really an invasion."
Reality: It sure as hell is if you're Ukrainian*.

*Yes, I know there's more to it than that, but large wars have started over less than this.
