For Politico and others, sorry seems to be the hardest word..
As Brian and Neo have previously posted, during the 2012 campaign Mitt Romney was mocked by President Obama and his cheerleaders for highlighting the Russian threat to American interests.
Romney wasnt the first Republican mocked for suggesting that Obama wasnt ready or willing to stand up to Russias leader.
In 2008, vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin warned of Russian troops invading the Ukraine.
In October 2008, after Russias invasion of neighboring Georgia emerged as a foreign policy flashpoint in the homestretch of a heated campaign, Palin told an audience in Nevada, After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obamas reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russias Putin to invade Ukraine next.
Her prediction was derided by Foreign Policy magazine as strange and extremely far-fetched, but Palin, frequent media antagonist that she is, couldnt resist crowing about how events have played out.
Twitchy, it seems, never forgets. (In this case aided by Jammie Wearing Fool.)
Gov. Palin is enjoying the vindication on Facebook.
Yes, I could see this one from Alaska. Im usually not one to Told-Ya-So, but I did, despite my accurate prediction being derided as an extremely far-fetched scenario by the high-brow Foreign Policy magazine.
Twitchy (again) notes that the editor in question is digging deeper.
Earning himself an appropriate rebuke.
Speaking of the Court Media, heres a line from the Washington Posts endorsement of President Obama in 2008.
"And we find no way to square his professed passion for Americas national security with his choice of a running mate who, no matter what her other strengths, is not prepared to be commander in chief."
I am still waiting for the comeuppance of the mainstream media. While they are losing readers and viewers, they still seem to set the political agenda. Their mindless shilling for Obama in both foreign and domestic policy should have damaged their credibility as unbiased observers beyond repair. It still hasnt happened. Though I expect that stories like this bring that day closer.
The MSM will just blow it off but not mentioning it.
“None so blind as those who will not see.”
Well she did have an advantage since she could see the Ukraine from her back porch. ;>}
“They’ll stick with their “she’s an idiot” meme as long as they can, especially now, when there’s a chance that she may be on a ticket opposite Hillary”
Kind of doubt she (SP) will be running; Just my opinion based on nothing. But there’s little question that the “she’s dumb” bombs will keep being thrown. It’s such an ingrained habit at this point. After all, it’s a heck of a lot easier to hang with the fourth-grade playground insults rather than grow up and face harsher realities. For idiots and college professors alike. If there’s a difference.
Some idiot talking head, possibly even today, will say she put the idea in Putins head and caused this.
You do know that that was said in a skit on SNL by a person playing Palin. Then the lame stream media picked up on it and attributed it to Palin. Right??? :)
They’ll start with “she’s an idiot” but back it up with “she’s a liar, she never said that”.
Heck, if it works for the Senate Majority Leader...
“The MSM will just blow it off but not mentioning it.”
It’s OBVIOUS that Putin is just a racist, that hates the idea of a black president, so he can be ignored, right??
That's two for two.
Just how bad, inadequate and feckless Obama would actually prove to be when the chips were down, nobody at the time could predict even in their worst dreams
I’m thinking that 0bama will have his a$$ handed to him internationally. He can’t scream racism on the world stage because he’d be laughed at big time, like that’s not happening now. He’ll yell and throw tantrums scaring Putin into sending Kerry over there to really put the fear into him. Yuk!
Yup! Took it as fact as if Sarah had said it.
Too true. Sad but true.
Ya, bet if that skit said that she said the moon was made of green cheese the media would pick up on that too.
Ah, it’s Palin’s fault. She gave the idea to Putin!
