WASHINGTON (AP) The sniping between establishment Republicans and tea partyers resumed Thursday as Texas Sen. Ted Cruz refused to endorse his state's senior senator in next week's Republican primary.
Sen. John Cornyn, the Senate's second-ranking Republican leader, faces tea party-backed Rep. Steve Stockman in Tuesday's election. Cruz declined to tell reporters how he plans to vote
"I am not supporting any of the senators from my party or their opponents" in this year's primaries, Cruz said, adding that he might change his mind later.
Cruz, a tea party favorite and potential 2016 presidential candidate, has infuriated fellow Republicans by forcing uncomfortable votes on issues such as the debt, and by raising money for conservative groups trying to defeat veteran Republicans, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.
Cruz's comments are especially notable because he is a vice chairman of the GOP committee tasked with winning Senate elections. He criticized the committee's track record and policy of virtually always backing incumbents.

Good need. Cruz looks better and better
Cruz is not a team player, Cornyn is a team player.
The team will back Cornyn and eventually, the team will dispose of Cruz.
“I am not supporting any of the senators from my party or their opponents” in this year’s primaries”
I wonder if that was an accurate wuote—or did he say he wasn’t ENDORSING ‘’’’’’?
I’d love to see a video.
Did Cornyn vote for Cruz when he was elected? I doubt it, since Dewhurst was the GOPe choice. Cruz said he wouldn’t campaign for any senate candidates, but the media thinks they can put him in a bad light with this, so they’ve been pumping it the past three days. No wonder we hate the media.
That's funny in light of the fact that the GOPe says it needs to make inroads into the Latino community. They will prove that by dumping someone named Cruz. That'll sell.
If they consider Cruz to not be a team player they consider the American people to not be on their team either. This REALLY makes the GOPe a mirror image of the Rats in that they think they know what's best for us. They practice the same addiction to power and position that the Democrats do. Dump 'em all!
Or Cruz wants to be the Senior Senator from Texas. It is not like he endorsed another nominee. He sees the positives for him getting rid of Cornyn.
Cruz is the only chance the rhino’s have to keep their party together. Seems I recall a statement once made that “A house divided will not stand”.

Neither will a house built on shifting sand.
He is a man of honor and that is why... cornyn has no honor and must be shunned.
Cruz plays for TEAM USA and not TEAM rino.
This AP story didn’t say that Cruz wasn’t endorsing him. Now, for the sake of FR, I sure hope Ted Cruz comes out and firmly non endorses him. I remember what happened to Rick Santorum when he endorsed the wrong person. You see, on our side, it’s all about who you endorse, not what you do.
I want Senator Cruz to be the Senior Senator from Texas.
Next up, I want to see Senator Cruz become the Senate Majority Leader.
“Party” means squat to me. The Preservation and Protection of our Constitution is paramount.
I have a question for Texas FReepers.
I’ve been reading various posts about the Texas election (early voting and voting day on Mar 4). This article and others say Cornyn and Stockman. From what I’ve been reading, Stovall is very popular among TX FReepers. Do you know why at least some of these articles only mention Stockman and not Stovall? I’m just curious.
Thanks in advance.
Cornyn has all the money, Stockman is lobbing all the verbal grenades. The MSM can't/won't cover anything else.
Meanwhile, Stovall has the endorsement of Texas Tea Parties, and there are other worthy candidates out there.
