Riot police in Ukraine fell to their knees to ask for forgiveness for their colleagues who shot and beat antigovernment protesters in the recent Kiev massacre. The extraordinary scenes in Lviv involved the Berkut elite anti-riot force whose members had returned from duty in the capital. They apologised on a stage in front of pro-Europe protesters.

You might want to look at the Clinton body count website.

Believe me, if he wanted to kill the protestors and clear the streets, he would of found the military men to carry out the orders.

Just for the entertainment if nothing else, it’s good to have a representative of the Maidan snipers here!

It’s 2001 and George W Bush has just restricted federal funding for research on stem cells obtained from human embryos.

The far left flies into a rage and a mob of them enter your neighborhood and start burning down homes.

The complete sequence would be as follows: Bush restricted federal funding >> ridiculously peaceful by later standards protests follow >> Bush sends the SWAT team not only to disperse but to beat the living s**t out of people (Nov 30) >> protesters respond by throwing rocks and hit police with sticks >> protesters start getting arrested, kidnapped and tortured >> Bush outlaws free speech and right to assembly >> protesters respond by throwing Molotovs (Jan 20) >> SWAT opens fire with lethal ammo

The story you tell has beginning and the end, omitting everything in the middle

If the Ukrainian leader was such a monster... why didn't he just call out the military and clear the streets in minutes like the Chinese did a Tienanmen square?

He thought he could do it with his police forces and their APCs. Days before, he installed a new loyal Army chief who drafted orders to use the military against the protesters. If the soldiers had followed those orders, that's another story

Several need to arrested, tried, convicted, and hanged as examples to the next wave, for example, of Russian intervention.

Any photo evidence of riot police being burned, and then alive? I saw so many instances of unarmed citizens being sniped right and left. It takes one helluv an arm to counter snipers with cocktail tosses. Moreover, if the snipers are sooo good, wing em, not outright kill em! For the most part, those bastards were killing unarmed civilians.

WOW! TejasFreeper, you need to look around. The name has changed but many remnants of the same old USSR are there. You are aware of the Georgia incident, right? Russia will move in to prevent the Ukrainians from getting what they want. You saw that today, right? Russians toke over a building?

Nobody's going to be openly burning down homes in my neighborhood. There would be a need for dozens of ambulances long before the Sheriff arrived.

If the police wish to take sides during a civil war they must be ready to accept the consequences.

“you mean they had the nerve to shoot protesters who were burning down peoples property (with people inside) and attacking and killing police?”

You're ignorant of what really happened in Kiev, TexasFreeper2009. You understand that the Yanukovich administration made peaceful protests in the public Maidan square, aka Independence square, illegal? His administration gave the orders to shoot people who were peacefully protesting government policy. When peaceful protesters get shot by real bullets, the only recourse is violence.

I suggest you talk with someone who has actually been in Ukraine.
Texas Freeper , meet Paleo Conservative, who spent time in Kiev. Ask him about his experiences with the “Berkut”. And by the way, Texas Freeper, the police were engaged in throwing Molotov cocktails too... When they weren't shooting unarmed protesters.

“If they are really sorry, they will turn in the people who gave the orders to shoot.”

-Most of the Berkut riot police were young, broke Russian sympathizers bussed in from the east side of Ukraine. When Ukrainian farmers found out what was going on, they ambushed the busses, and forced these Berkut to walk back home, unarmed and unharmed. Only 10 police died, while thousands of protesters were seriously injured by the Berkut riot police.

I would encourage you all to read this article below, titled
“Point of No Return”
This story is about a journalist who is engaged a Berkut police Officer. She related on live TV from Kiev, how the Berkut police shot two of her journalist friends DEAD, merely observing the protests.

Here are her own words:

Point of No Return
http://khpg.org/index.php?id=1393096910

“You probably want to hear a story from me about how with my bare hands I restrained a whole Berkut unit,   And how one of the Berkut officers fell in love with me and I fell in love with him.  But I’m going to tell you another story. About how with my bare hands I dragged the bodies of those killed  the day before yesterday. And about how two of my friends died yesterday. . … I hate Zakharchenko, Klyuev, Lukash, Medvedchuk, Azarov.”

-”I hate Yanukovych and all those who carry out their criminal orders.  I came here today only because I found out that this is a live broadcast.  I want to say that I also despise Inter because for three months it deceived viewers and spread enmity among citizens of this country. And now you are calling for peace and unity. Yes, you have the right to try to clear your conscience, but I think you should run this programme on your knees.  I’ve brought these photos here for you, so that you see my dead friends in your dreams and understand that you also took part in that. And now, I’m sorry, I don’t have time.  I’m going to Maidan. Glory to Ukraine”. -Lidia Pankiv, Ukrainian journalist (who is engaged to a Berkut police officer.)

Ohhh look at that!!!

It’s one of Yanukovytch’s peace officers getting ready to throw a molotov cocktail at the protesters.

Why aren’t his fellow officers shooting him???

Instead they look to be helping him.

Are you kidding? Why are people glamorizing Putin? We know missionaries who have been thrown out of Russia. When they left for a conference in the US, they were not allowed back into Russia. Stranded with no country. (These were RUSSIAN NATIONALS not Americans). We know one who was dragged into a court case on false charge (well many that happened to.) Putin is systematically trying to turn Russia back into the old Soviet union. Please don’t glamorize him as some modern day Christian knight. He is not.

We personally know elderly who risked their lives to drive through kiev to take food packets to other elderly who could not get out of their homes.

And pleeease don’t compare George Bush to Yankuvich. George Bush did a lot I didn’t agree with but for heavens sake. Yankuvich was a murderous corrupt oligarch. He rigged their elections and the corruption by his thugs, police etc was just getting worse and worse. Have you seen pictures of his estate? He robbed Ukraine of and incredible amount of money.

And the fighting and burning started after he declared war on the protestors and started shooting them.
