-Most of the Berkut riot police were young, broke Russian sympathizers bussed in from the east side of Ukraine. When Ukrainian farmers found out what was going on, they ambushed the busses, and forced these Berkut to walk back home, unarmed and unharmed. Only 10 police died, while thousands of protesters were seriously injured by the Berkut riot police.

They were all from outer provinces, could barely understand the Mandarin dialect, and were told the people in Beijing looked down on back country hicks.
