I would be willing to bet that San Francisco is among out most secular of cities, and that the two items are not unrelated.

That's a statistic that has to undergo lots of massaging.
Higher price of gas tends to decrease vehicle miles available for accidents, while increases in illegal aliens increases accidents...

......don’t forget drugs, they get high and are unhappy and want to make a statement to mom and/or dad or wife or girlfriend or whatever and they go out to the bridge and jump!
I would just bet that a very small percentage of them are cold sober when they jump.
