Breaking news also reports that Russia warns against any interference with the Russians in Crimea and that the Russian Air Force is on alert. There is little doubt Putin wants to add a successful war to his accomplishments.
Will this be limited to the predominantly Russian areas of south and east Ukraine?

I’ve always wanted to do that.
Will Putin Seize Crimea?

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov qualified his statement about non-interference by saying Russia would not interfere as long as the West observed the same rule. That still leaves Russia with plenty of wiggle room - Russia will decide what constitutes “non-interference.”
The events in Crimea combined with the Russian Armed Forces drill send to Kiev’s new government a message: do not test us.
In any case, the new rulers in Kiev rule over a deeply divided country and they lack legitimacy in half of it. Their rolling back Russian language rights at the best of Ukrainian nationalists was a disastrous mistake. Its only compounded fears among Russophones they in for bad times ahead because they backed Yanukovych.
Kiev is doing a great job of stirring up separatist sentiments without Moscow having to even meddle there.
Standing by to observe our laughingstock in chief getting schooled on the international stage...
“They threw a flash grenade in response to a journalists questions.”
Oh, would I love a Republican to do that to Rachel Maddow and the other lyin’ libs.
Ukraine is headed in the direction of Yugoslavia.
Turkey might have something to say about that. If Turkey objects, it could limit Russian access to the Bosporus, locking the Russian fleet OUT of the Med. & effectively neutering the Russian naval base at Sevastopol. That would be a disaster for Russian power projection in the area & limit Russia's material support of Syria.
Putin already has Sevastopol & Bosporus access. Annexing the whole of Crimea is unnecessary, internationally risky, & a potential domestic problem, too.
One more line to Kerry-Obama slap down, again.
“they get slapped down but they get up again because they
are weak fools”.
There used to be an animated gif. that had Ahmadinejad
punching Obama down continuously. Wonder what happened to it?
well... what’s good for the goose...
now lets see how the “new” Ukrainian government is when mobs are taking over buildings.
Well, here we go, Figured it would be something like this :/
I kinda like these guys..
Did the men get Sec. Kerry’s permission to do this? If not, boy, are they in trouble now!
Ironic. Ukrainian protesters drove out the President and now they have to deal with Crimean protesters. Russia wants the Ukraine to stay out of Crimea’s business so Russia can get involved in Crimea’s business.
Crimea river
How do you say ‘anschluss’ in Russian?
Maybe Putin already seized Crimea and these are Russian SF?
The victory in the Cold War took decades and spanned several presidencies, but it took Obama just 5 years to start reversing those costly and hard fought gains.
Our foes realize they have nearly 3 years left, to advance during Obama’s term.
They know he seems to be nearly done with his wind down of America’s muslim conflicts, and doesn’t want any more conflicts.
