To put it another way, there can be no hope for freedom unless we the people recognize that every time the police shoot an unarmed citizen, taser an elderly person, or beat someone senseless or crash through a homeowners door, they are really shooting me, tasering you, and beating senseless your children, your neighbors and your loved ones.

Highwaymen
Good luck with this one...the Law & Order types will be around to tell you why the police are always right.
**********
The police are not always right (Who is?); but the average Joe, as distinguished from the average libertarian, is far more concerned about being a victim of criminals than the police.
BTW, no one ever addressed why those police were there making those arrests. It was clear it was one large drunk crowd, that was taunting the police while making the arrests. Sure, the LEO were wrong in making those statements, but why not comment on the drunks and the entire situation?
Crowds tend to gather outside bars at closing time. I understand the need for a police presence and even support them if things get rowdy.
Not the case here. Some dude just standing there, not “in their face”, videoing their arrests was in no way interfering with their duties.
It was a “muh authorituh must be respekted” moment. Pure and simple.
Sorry, poor choice of words. Rather than right lets say corrupt. Ive yet to meet one that wasnt a felon waiting for an opportunity. The more exposure you have to COPs the more you fear for your life.

Just one more today for the road
I think the officer in the video is extraordinarily agitated, hostile and unprofessional. I think its highly problematic, said David Rocah, ACLU Maryland. The fact that officers can act this way, knowing that theyre being filmed, I think shows a level of impunity that is quite troubling.
Agreed. Stupid cop.
Delegate Sandy Rosenberg says hes also concerned.
There needs to be either further training for the police and perhaps some appropriate disciplinary action for this individual policeman, Rosenberg said.
Agreed. The boy is probably gonna get a spankin’.
“The man who was filming was not arrested and has not filed a complaint in this case.”
Not arrested and no complaint filed. This constitutes a War? Sorry, I’m not buying that. Maybe the guy will find an attorney and file a suit and get a couple grand.
Not much of a war.
Looks to me that there was a crowd that needed to be dispersed. Instead of yelling obscenities the cop should have given a warning to do just that, leaving the sentence enhancers out of his vocabulary.
After Mr. Camera failed to disperse I would have locked him up for fail to disperse.
A war? Hardly.
Oh I understand the LEO ‘tude was wrong, but there was also a big crowd yelling, taunting the police as they arrested alleged drunks. With all that action the LEO should still have maintained a civil demeanor, but I also understand that with a bunch of loud and “unruly” kids yelling and disrespecting the LEO, I would expect some degree of anger by the LEO. Nothing angers me more is a bunch of kids disrespecting elders, let alone LEO. An all-around bad situation on both sides.
If they can’t handle it, the. Maybe a change of profession would be in order.
