Nugent: Obama ‘Really Wants to Destroy America’
Tea Party ^ | Feb. 25, 2014 | Politico

Posted on 02/25/2014 11:26:57 PM PST by progunner

After last week apologizing for comments calling the president a “subhuman mongrel,” Ted Nugent on Monday attacked the administration for what he called similarities to Nazi Germany.

The rocker and gun rights activist defended some of his past remarks on Monday on Dennis Miller’s radio show, days after apologizing for using the term “mongrel” to refer to President Barack Obama, which caused a storm of controversy when he hit the campaign trail for Texas Republican governor hopeful Greg Abbott.Miller pressed Nugent on using the term “jackbooted thug.”

“The guy, he’s just a horribly inept civil servant,” Miller said, according to audio posted by left-leaning watchdog Media Matters. “He’s just the guy in the toll booth who keeps giving back too much change to people and I’ll be glad when he’s out of there, but he’s not a Nazi.”

“Well I don’t think he’s Adolf Hitler,” Nugent said, but he told Miller he disagreed that the “jackbooted thug” comment was inappropriate.

“There was an incrementalism to what happened in Germany and other places historically, where they came in slowly,” Nugent said. “And I think that’s what Obamacare is, that’s what I think most of what he represents. The IRS — I really believe that what we see with the IRS can be compared accurately and historically to the early maneuvers of people like jackbooted thugs, like the Brownshirts [Nazi Storm Troopers]. I really believe that and I think that you are being too soft on them.”

Miller again told Nugent he disagreed with the comparison, but Nugent pressed that the President Barack Obama wants to “destroy” the country.

“I think he really wants to destroy America. I think he wants to follow the Saul Alinsky ‘Rules for Radicals’ book, destroy our economy, have a … war between the haves and the have-nots.”

In his apology on Friday, Nugent said he was trying to learn from “better men” with whom he had appeared on the campaign trail and said he would try to use “more understandable language” rather than “street-fighter” terms in the future.

Why does a link titled “Tea Party” take me to an obnoxious “Politico” article?

the outcry against what Nugent said wasn't as loud as it would have been 4 years ago. THAT in and of itself is the news story here. Conclusion? After 5 years of Barry, his formerly hardcore supporters now agree with Nugent (secretly of course).

Good point CivilWar... I don't know if Obama's former true believers 'agree' but I suspect a lot of them are having serious doubts about his goals... and his honesty about them.

Well, details aside, hearing reasonable people say he’s way way wrong on this while at a campaign event for the very viable Greg Abbott is horrifying

Gregg Abbott is running for gov of Texas

Against the late term abortion queen Wendy Davis. She is in the high thorty percent In Texas.

There are a lot of liberals and liberal regions in Texas. Voter I’d is hotly contested. There are millions of illegals here just ready for voting pro elegies. Mexicans even catholics vote democrat, more so when they’re conservative, as dems in mexico are the conservative party they dont assimilate and figure out the difference

Greg Abbott is ahead. What does he need to be associated with this nastiness for?

It’s hate filled petty and completely unnecessary to the governors race and can only harm it. Texas conservatives know Obama without this

As long as I keep my message in line with God’s, well yes I am. Deal with it.

Actually it was deafening in it's lack of outrage. Greg Abott gave what a lot would consider a tepid disclaimer at most.

Cut him some slack?

Look at the headline.

I haven’t said one word about him. There’s not one utterance in those juvenile hate threads supporting him

Look at my original statement

He needs to go away.

Im all for calling a spade a spade but there comes a time in political discourse where hostile language never closes a divide. Our nation has literally become an us vs. them mentality and it comes from both sides. I did not agree with the same language utilized against Bush and do not agree to its utilization as bad as this president is. Do I have a belief Obama is purposeful in his actions? Yes. But to utilize Hitler references no matter the occupant...yes I too agree top far no matter the side.

None will be able to converse with one another when this flies unchallenged.

Jumping to the front of a parade. Thinking he can do Abbott a favor. I dunno.

But it is this sort of gaffe that Democrats try to rub the maximum salt they can into the sores of. It might not seem fair the GOP needs to walk a tightrope, to avoid stirring up the chicken littles among voters. But until a greater godliness grips the land, that is what it is going to have to do. These ever coarser chesty thumpers might not be thumping their chests so hard in a blue Texas.

You really think a lot of yourself don't you. The fact you feel confident in such a proclamation really shows what a phony you are. What ever happened to " Judge not lest ye be judged".

You are trying to put me in your fallacy box that asserts nobody can know God’s will. Won’t work!

I judge according to the same law that I accept to judge myself. And that law does not call for uncertainty about God’s will. How about reading 1 Cor 13 and telling us how you fare there?

I think a lot about God. HTRN really doesn’t matter in this equation, I could be anyone else on earth (as long as I believed) and the valid message would be the same.

People called Christ selfish too.

I follow your thinking. My way of thinking is not to be reactive to the liberals as so many are, it’s just another side of liberalism, but not as attractive to lib voters no better that mcromeyryan

Focusing on our foundation and what makes this country good is the only way to get ahead. We may as well do it now instead of after Hillary gets in and Texas turns blue

Hatred is just not a winner. Nor is senselessness of this sort. Did Abbott think he was going to have to hear this?

Abbott spoke last year at an event. It was not this silly hate tone. And it was before he declared his candidacy

Leaving the hatred to the libs is all that can be done. We cannot win, or don’t want to win in that arena
