Call it what you want -- anti-gay or religious rights -- but if Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer signs a controversial bill, you might not be calling Arizona the home of the 2015 Super Bowl.
The Religious Freedom Restoration Act, S.B. 1062, is the current controversy du jour out of Arizona, and the National Football League is with the opposition.
“Our policies emphasize tolerance and inclusiveness and prohibit discrimination based on age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation or any other improper standard,” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told USA Today. “We are following the issue in Arizona and will continue to do so should the bill be signed into law, but will decline further comment at this time.”

Oh for the love of garbage.....when did the NFL become the champions of gay men? I thought they played football not some in-your-face sexual advocate. Frankly, Arizona is probably too good a State to put up with the likes of the trash talking NFL in the first place......With a Governor too strong to be threatened even by the POTUS!!!!!
The NFL and corporate America are becoming very politically correct. It will be interesting to see if catering to decadence is good for business or will hurt the bottom line.
It will always and forever be about money.
In which case, they should be in perfect agreement with the Arizona bill.
But of course, the reality is that they pay lip service to religious freedom while actively condemning even slightest practice of it.
How about spreading the word about not watching football for the 2014 season if they continue to be politically incorrect? We are talking a HUGE hit here if a season is boycotted.
On the other hand, watch more hockey. Players and people don’t whine about the fights that are ALLOWED in the game.

No one will ever take on the corporate/government complex. They are becoming one and the same. Both political parties are for sale to the highest bidder. It’s too bad the majority of the population is too busy collecting bennies to notice.

Haven’t been an NFL fan in a long time. Three hours to watch maybe 18 minutes isn’t a very efficient use of time. But the Super Bowl game was usually an exception. Not this past game though. They took a stand against Daniel Defense’s advertisement, and that clearly told me where their priorities reside. I also don’t frequent businesses or restaurants that have certain political views.
Sadly, many conservatives will talk about a stand, but then make an exception for something like the super bowl. If all the conservatives would have tuned out this past year. A message might of been sent to the NFL. When principles are flexible, they really aren’t principles...
Forget any notion of 50 separate laboratories of "democracy" - you will think as you are told, or else.

I never liked football. How can anyone like a game in which a group of men bend over, allow one to walk up close behind, Then reach up and grab the bent over one’s ball and run!
This Arizonan sure wouldn’t miss the NFL & the Super Bowl. I do miss the time when football was played and marching bands killed time during half-time and I wasn’t asked to worship either Thugdom or Homosexual Activists.
I will definitely NOT be turning on cable tonight to watch the homosexualist RINOs at FNC cheer for a Brewer veto.

I haven’t watched the NFL season for nearly 30 years. I sometimes watch the Super Bowl for the commercials, but that was even a bust this year.
Same tactics used against the Boy Scouts. That campaign began at the 2000 DNC when they boo’d the Scouts pledge of alligence. The left never gives up.
Homosexuals won’t be happy until the entire military, NFL, NBA, government, churches, restaurants, bakeries, florists, printers, TV shows are all run and staffed by homosexuals.
And people don’t think we need two separate countries.
So let me get this straight....the NFL, which is operating under an antitrust exemption, can threaten a sovereign state in order to influence its internal politics, and our politicians are OK with this? “Nice Superbowl you have there, too bad if anything were to happen to it” is OK?
I would sooner die than purchase anything that nets the NFL one red cent from now on. Screw ‘em.
NFL National Footsie League. Just more garbage from the so called football players association of America. So a state says no to gay rights and they want to pull the football away. Wait is not what Lucy does to Charlie Brown very time. So will the Arizona cardinals be banned as an NFL team?
Before people go blaming the NFL, remember, the league exists at the pleasure of the Feds who could bring antitrust charges against it at any time.
