I happen to be old enough to remember Polio, my parents fear of it every summer, and the miracle of the
Salk Vaccine back in the early 50s.
But I went through all my school years with kids who wore legs braces because of Polio. That's not counting those kids that died or were too crippled to even attend school.
If this isn't Polio, I pray they find out what it is and find a vaccine quickly.

Sugar cube medicine. Even remember parents taking their sugar cube(s) too.

One of my schoolmates brother was in an iron lung. I don't know ho long he survived as we moved away from the small town in Ohio. Horrendous disease.

Wasn’t polio the main cause/reason for them building those huge iron lung machines back in the early 60’s?
I was born in 54, and remember all the vaccines. My grandmother on my moms side had a brace and walked with a cane as long as I remember because she had had polio as a child.
