Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott leads Democrat Wendy Davis by 11 points, according to a new poll Monday.
Forty-seven percent of voters said they back Abbott, while 36 percent would vote for Davis, a University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll found. Seventeen percent of registered voters said they had no opinion.
The new poll represents a widening gap between Abbott and Davis. In October, the survey found Abbott leading Davis by just 6 percent.
Meanwhile, the poll also found that Rep. Steve Stockman poses a minor threat to Sen. John Cornyn in the Senate race. Sixty-two percent of likely Republican voters would support Cornyn, while just 16 percent would back Stockman, according to the survey.
In the Democratic Senate primary, Kesha Rogers leads with 35 percent of likely Democratic voters. Rogers has called for the impeachment of President Barack Obama and repeal of the Affordable Care Act, according to The Dallas Morning News.
The poll surveyed 1,200 registered voters online between Feb. 7 and Feb. 17 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.83 percentage points. The questions of likely Republican primary voters have a margin of error of plus or minus 4.56 percentage points, and the questions of likely Democratic primary voters have a margin of error of plus or minus 6.04 percentage points.

I voted Stovall so I think he’s being underreported in polls I’ve seen that show Cornyn at 60% or so. But he might be taking votes from Stockman rather than Cornyn. Tea Party needs to show up big time next Tuesday and we need to hope for bad weather to keep the Establishment voters at home.
“I would bet youd get the same number of votes if the democrats nominated a dead dog.”
You are correct. It’s not the name or qualifications it’s the -D behind the name.
Closer it get to the election, we’ll see an influx of “stars” and Democratic heavy hitters come into the state. The weak minded will fall for all the BS and march stupidly into the polls and vote for her.
Seems so. The only ones offended by Abbotts comment are the libs. Conservatives know it’s true
it’s not over till it’s over.
We're voting Stovall, too. Don't know that we're going to force Cornyn into a run-off...and, if we do, beating him would be a very long shot.
However, it's becoming obvious that Dewhurst will end up in a run-off...and is going to be roadkill. That will be a pretty strong statement.
I votes Stovall too. And I agree, tea party needs to show up big time on Tuesday.
.
Given her previous ineptitude in things political, I’m waiting for Davis to come out and say:
1) Chili is bad for you and should never be given to children. Besides, she adds, it tastes bad unless it has beans.
2) The Alamo should be torn down to build low cost housing for the poor.
3) Miscegenation between whites and Mexicans should be discouraged.
4) Texas would be a better place if it was more like New York.
5) “Go Sooners!”
Exactly. Dewhurst is toast.
Ha! Wendy “I’ll say anything to get elected” Davis.
Whose leg to I have to hump to get elected

Let’s hope he wins by 15 and sends the message that Texas is never going Dem.
I hope for more, but I’ll take what I can get.
Data covers a lot of topics including favorable/unfavorable, church,
income, previous state if moved to Texas, etc.
That Davis even got the attention she did is partly because David Dewhurst couldn't or wouldn't control the Texas Senate. He let her run wild.
IOW Cornyn is not in troble at all and in fact all the single digit do nothings are just splitting votes.
Polls I’ve seen are registered voter, not likely voters. And regardless of what happens, at least Cornyn and Rove will know 40%+ of Texas GOP voters despise them and all they stand for.
questions 24 and 25 are not what I expected
Do you suppose exit polling will be done on Mar 4?
We can amass all the early voting and absentee but when say Sarah breaks and endorses Stovall Mar 3, or Stockman, does that leave half the primary votes to be cast now TEA? Will this be our adjustment to the ‘12 analog?
