Walmart can swallow $315,000 easily. And it sounds like it was their fault anyway.

That was cheaper than having the store burned down and the employees killed by the EBT zombies!

Why not disqualify all 500 thieves???

they should prosecute instead. All those free loaders will do is move to Texas and apply for befits here.

“Several Louisiana retailers allowed food stamp recipients to make unlimited purchases on Oct. 12, when the electronic card system was down and balances couldnt be checked.”
That was a pretty stupid solution. Why didn’t they tell people they could spend up to $50 or $100? That’s enough to tide anyone over for a day or two.

If this is the case then Walmart should be “pursueing” them. It was they who allowed it to happen. Let them sue. Of course, they’ll never do that since at least a third of their business comes from ebt cards.

If you overspend on your credit card or if the bank screws up and gives you too much money, you are required to pay it back. So I don’t see anything wrong with cutting off peopel who spent too much. They should have to pay it back too. Better yet, the state should do a better job of forcing these people to work at real, paying jobs.
