I read a comment by Glenn Reynolds on the Klavan article about purity or strategy this morning. Here is what he said, and it's worth noting:
Yeah, I agree (with Klavan). Also, a GOP-controlled Senate is necessary to block potentially horrible Supreme Court nominees. To get there requires that Tea Party activists sometimes grit their teeth. But it also requires establishment GOP types to treat the Tea Party base with respect, because when they dont, you get 2012. This will be a test of maturity all around.
Without both these things happening, we will be screwed and played endlessly by the totalitarian left. They know how to do that well.
The Founding Generation would recognize that statement for what it is -- a call to abandon the whole point and purpose of your fight.
Others may do what they like, but I'm never voting RINO again. I'd rather fight the enemy in the streets than compromise my personal integrity any further.
