The full force of RICO laws can be applied to end the scourge unionism and the equally evil minimum wage. Simply put unions are anti-freedom, anti-liberty and 100% pro-slavery.
Sounds like a sea story, chief.
“Public employee unions represent workers at every level of government federal, state and local. Since contract negotiations for these workers are dependent not on private corporations, but on the size of government budgets, this is the one segment of the labor movement that can actually contribute directly to the people with ultimate responsibility for its livelihood. While their giving pattern matches that of other unions (which overwhelmingly support Democrats), public sector unions also concentrate contributions on members of Congress from both parties who sit on committees that deal with federal budgets and agencies.
This broad category encompasses teachers, firefighters, police officers, postal workers and any other employee of the government at any level. Their legislative demands therefore vary significantly. Like any union, however, public sector unions focus primarily on strengthening workers’ rights and working conditions, securing fair wages, buying domestically produced goods, guaranteeing workers’ safety and eliminating corporations’ abuse of their employees.”

I'll ask one more time BTC USNVET. What is your point? There was not one word in Gov. Haley's address that mentioned government unions.
I'll predict that he's not going to answer. He signed up today to attack freedom and liberty via a not-so-well contrived backhanded defense of unionism and an over appeal to federal "workers". And, he'll probably be oh-so-offended by the statement that the unemployment rate of federal "workers" ought to rise north of 85% to get the government off our backs.

Yep, I noticed s/he signed up today for the post on this thread, just giving it the benefit of the doubt. :-)
Maybe not, MeanMaryJean.
This Yankee is a South Carolinian by choice-—and the last person you would brand a “liberal”.
Luv our Guv.
The union has no, I repeat, no bargaining powers for wages, annual or sick leave, government workers can’t strike and wages are set by Congress.
*******************************
So, exactly what is the purpose of government employees (not ‘workers’) having unions, if they have no bargaining powers?
I believe it’s to extract dues to fund the union leaders’ lush lifestyles and fund PACs that support the progressive Democrat Party.
Why do the government-run public schools, colleges and universities in most RTW States require the teachers/instructors to belong to the union to be employed? Such unions are no better than the UAW, SEIU, AFL-CIO and others, in that they maintain the seniority policies and just salivate at getting dues.
Well, Mr./Ms. Yankee...glad to have you! And even more glad to know you’re not of the “liberal” persuasion! Welcome “home!”
Thanks jazusamo.
