Ukrainian protesters tore through towns all over their nation, ripping down statues of Vladimir Lenin, the communist dictator who had forced the Ukrainians under the Russian yoke after the Bolshevik revolution.
The Ukrainians drove their corrupt, pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovich from the capitol of Kiev, while the opposition leader former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko was freed from prison.
Amazing images of protesters tearing down the iconic face of socialism V.I. Lenin (also known as Vladimir Ulyanov) erupted into a fury on social media last night.
These photos are truly inspiring at least to those able to recognize the significance of young people yearning to throw off the legacy of an oppressive system of government: socialism.

Smashing Lenin statues is a clear symbol of something. :p
As long as they don’t smash statues of Borodin, Shostakovitch, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakoff, Rachmaninoff...
lol
Nope, but he’s just right for Pootie-Poo. I bet he’s shedding a tear in the Kremlin tonight.
A front end loader with a bucket would take care of nice and quick.
But Mr. Edwards said that regardless of what Stalin did on the Eastern Front, none of his forces were on the shores of Normandy that day..................................... Little known fact, yes there were Russian troops at the Normandy Landing. They were assigned there to help our forces via Propaganda Units, to talk the OST Troops into surrendering. It was also a front page story in what I believe was Stars and Stripes 6/44 if I recall correctly. I read it at Ft.Leavenworth, in their Library Achives. I was surprised to see it, photos and all.

Because if Obama had a statue, that's what he'd look like.
Wow, I bet that felt good
I hear ya Gene.I am watching this closely. I just hope they do not go from the frying pan into the fire
Where is that statue?
Seattle.
I dont know...I think its very appropriate. I particularly like the blood soaked hand.
wasn’t the Taco del Mar owner in that plaza in Fremont the one who got that Slovak surplus Lenin installed?
clever to use Lenin to sell fish tacos to the leftist persuasion..!
I don't know for sure RitchieAprile. The last time I went into Fremont was back 1977 I think. Then there was a tavern there directly across from the 'bus-stop' sculptures called DB Coopers (which burned down in the latter part of that year). I was single, in my mid 20's, worked downtown and it was a popular 'meat-market.' The closest I've been to Fremont for decades is The Salmon House. Back then, downtown neighborhoods like Fremont and Capitol Hill were pretty weird, but NOTHING like they are now.
Obama and Putin are both crying right now.
Anybody got a hanky for them? Anybody got a Mr. Hanky for them?
Yeah, sure, c’mere, Barky .... I got yer hanky right here ...
Homes, you badass. Go, daddy! Tear that ************ up!
That Communist "socialist realism" statue of MLK on the Mall needs to come down ..... MLK was never a Communist, so the statue is a visual "theft" or co-opting of MLK for the Communist Party line.
If people want to do a statue of King on the Mall, it needs to be executed in the French realist style that is shared by all our military and national monuments.
The sculptor of the present (temporary) statue is a Chicom.
