On Wednesday, Washington Post opinion writer E.J. Dionne Jr. used the Michael Dunn conviction as proof that we need to repeal stand your ground laws.

However, I have to note that on NPR, when EJ Dionne and David Brooks debate the issues of the day, Dionne will occaisionally opine that Obama has made a mistake -- but Brooks rarely does so. For Brooks (the NPR Republican), Obama is godlike and perfect. Dionne sees the situation (just slightly) more accurately.
Like girlymen everywhere, Dionne prefers the old ‘Turn and run’ laws.

We should also use the recent politicization of the IRS and the resulting abuse of private citizens to repeal the income tax.
Or perhaps the new "turn and lean forward" laws.
E. J. Dionne: Living proof that using raw sewage for brains simply does not work.
Dunn should have waited until/if one of the guys got out of their vehicle and advanced on him.
Police are routinely acquitted or not even charged with murder of civilians on the premise of "I thought I saw a gun" or "He made a threatening movement".
