Evidently, when Steyn submitted this column, the following news from Vancouver was not yet available...
"Climate Scientist" Michael Mann (Hockey Stick Guy) lost his libel case in a Canadian Civil Court and will have to pony up $10 mill to the defendant's counter-suit. He failed to produce his research data on the "Hockey Stick" -- tantamount to an admission that it was fabricated.

As a consequence, Mark Steyn's $10 million counter-suit will likely also be successful.
