Actually they are probably fairly smart. Why buy something that is very expensive that you’ll never use? Of course, now they are forced to buy it.
The chances of a young kid having health issues is nil. Most of my 20s I didn’t have health insurance. It would suck if I had to pay hundreds of dollars into health insurance. I wasn’t making a a lot of money back then.
What a jerk. I was driving a tractor and pulling a plow when I was 15. Many other jobs by 18 when I went into the military. She has no idea about how young people helped build this country, and how they didn’t whine about. This isn’t about me. Millions of other young boys and girls helped their families survive and thrive.

The change in societal norms in the last 40 years is incredible. By the time I was 25 I had a professional job and was married with a kid. And I bought the optional health insurance at work because back in the olden days you couldn’t get medical care unless you paid for it one way or another.

This country & the Liberal teachers, professors, media & Politicians have spent the past 2 generations TEACHING the young Americans to be knuckleheads.
Those of us who learned different are expected to support them at every possible intersection in their lives because of such teachings.
Having your kid on your insurance until they are 26 is just plain ludicrous. I was helping to support MY Dad by that time, and I already owned my own house. Single—female—just one job—on a high school education.
The day is coming when that will stop.
