A first Democratic senator has indicated he thinks it might be time to scrap Obamacare. While legislators should work to fix the law in the meantime, Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia told Beckley’s Register Herald that he would support getting rid of the law entirely.
“I will vote tomorrow to repeal [the Affordable Care Act], but I want to fix the problems in it,” Manchin told an audience.
He described the law as a product that the government has failed to “sell.” Manchin made similar comments in November when he said Obamacare was “more than a rollout problem — there is a product problem.”
In July, before the law’s troubled rollout, Manchin said that he thought it needed more than just minor tweaks. “This is not a trim job,” he said of the needed changes to the bill. “This is a pretty good haircut that has to be looked upon.”

Given what Manchin feels about Obamacare and what the Obama administration is doing to the coal industry, I can’t figure out why he remains a Democrat.

A day late and a dollar short. I hope this guy just goes away, I wonder how much more pain and suffering West Virginia will have because of him?
I hope the West Virginians do them selves and the rest of us a favor and vote this lieing bum out.
Well, he's playing WV voters for fools. He voted for it, not having read past the title to see what it entailed. He voted against the effort to stop its funding. He wants to have it both ways. And he still doesn't understand the real problem.
In his mind, it's not that ObamaCare is an abomination as a concept. It's not that it is unworkable because all central planning is unworkable. It's not that people didn't want it in the first place. It's that it wasn't "sold" well. And now the heat's too great for him and he'd repeal it. Sure.
And apparently his lying works - because he continually gets re-elected. Unlikely that he will change his 'winning' formula. Keep cranking out the lies - his voters will buy it.
An empty promise he can make because he knows that Reid will never bring it up for a vote.
Since Harry Reid will never let it come for a vote, he is free to say anything.
His vote put ObamaCare over the top, making Pelosi very happy. That this weasel should get one vote from the citizens of WV after the way Obama has decimated their coal industry is an outrage.
Will he change from D to R? I doubt it.
