Sen. Rand Paul said in a Twitter message that rocker-turned-activist Ted Nugent ought to apologize for making “offensive” remarks about President Obama.
Mr. Nugent made the media wave this week with an interview in which he described the president as a “subhuman mongrel,” right before he took to the campaign trail for Texas gubernatorial hopeful Greg Abbott. Mr. Abbott’s aides have since distanced their candidate from Mr. Nugent and quietly removed him from the campaign trail, Newsmax reported.
Late Thursday evening, Mr. Paul made his view of the situation clear.
In a tweet, he wrote: “Ted Nugent’s derogatory description of President Obama is offensive and has no place in politics. He should apologize.”
Mr. Paul wasn’t the only GOPer to weigh in. Sen. Ted Cruz said “of course” he didn’t agree with Mr. Nugent’s assessment of the president, The Hill reported. And Gov. Rick Perry said he didn’t like the use of the word “mongrel” to describe a president, The Hill said.

Mr. Nugent originally made the remarks in an interview with Guns.com. His full statement: “I have obviously failed to galvanize and prod, if not shame, enough Americans to be ever vigilant not to let a Chicago communist-raised, communist-educated, communist-nurtured subhuman mongrel like the ACORN community organizer gangster Barack Hussein Obama to weasel his way into the top office of authority in the United States of America.”

I have had numerous moments like that, where I did not feel I could say what I really was thinking, but I was thinking it anyway.
Abbott should be ashamed for cutting Ted off at the knees.
If this turd ever thought I’d think about voting for him, this just takes the cake. You’re right, he should STFU. He is irrelevant in my book.
Memo to Paul: You gain no points with your hatters with this kind of post. Keep your nose out of it.
If asked say I’m not responsible for the statements of anyone but myself. If pressed say I wouldn’t have said that myself.
Yes. I’m almost speechless much of the time lately at what is happening in our country, and yet Rand Paul has chosen this to address? Whatever his priorities are, it seems that I do not share them.
I think that Ted Nugent is going to get an FCC monitor...
Why? Truth is always hard to swallow, but truth is truth.
It would have certainly been better if he had said “cretin” than “subhuman mongrel.”
But I sure do like Ted’s sentence. It nicely encapsulates it all - Chicago, Acorn, communist, community organizer.
Still waiting for him and others to demand that these rats apologize to President Bush. STFU and FUBO
Oh yes, I forgot. In a totalitarian Monarchy such as we have today, calling the King a subhuman mongrel is grounds for having your head removed.
Ted Nugent is lucky to still be alive after that comment.
That being said as far as being a sub-human mongrel, I would disagree with the term “mongrel”.
And if someone were to say that Obama eats SH=+ on toast, I would defend him because I know that Obama doesn’t like toast.
Mind your own business Rand.
Rand Paul demonstrating that he’s no different from the rest of the inside-the-Beltway GOP establishment.
And people consider him to be a serious conservative contender?
Sheesh!
Do we have to give up on him too?
Cruz simply said he disagreed with the term "mongrel" and did not call on Nugent to apologize. Interesting that Cruz did not mention that he disagreed with the sub-human part of that statement.
Rand Paul could have said nothing or just indicated that he was not in agreement. Instead he took on the Imperial cloak of power and called upon his subject to apologize to the king.
Well said.
Is Ted Nugent running for office? No. So, if I think it's a dumb quote, then am I killing some contender's aspirations for higher office.
I think dehumanizing Obama makes him less guilty. He's fully human and should know better than to try dehumanizing America by turning them into the Communist Borg.
I sure hope that you’re not holding your breath.
LOL I know
I have to say that the more that I learn about Rand Paul, the less that I like him.
I disagree. He’s doing his utmost to destroy this country. The time for polite conversation is past.
