Sen. Rand Paul said in a Twitter message that rocker-turned-activist Ted Nugent ought to apologize for making “offensive” remarks about President Obama.
Mr. Nugent made the media wave this week with an interview in which he described the president as a “subhuman mongrel,” right before he took to the campaign trail for Texas gubernatorial hopeful Greg Abbott. Mr. Abbott’s aides have since distanced their candidate from Mr. Nugent and quietly removed him from the campaign trail, Newsmax reported.
Late Thursday evening, Mr. Paul made his view of the situation clear.
In a tweet, he wrote: “Ted Nugent’s derogatory description of President Obama is offensive and has no place in politics. He should apologize.”
Mr. Paul wasn’t the only GOPer to weigh in. Sen. Ted Cruz said “of course” he didn’t agree with Mr. Nugent’s assessment of the president, The Hill reported. And Gov. Rick Perry said he didn’t like the use of the word “mongrel” to describe a president, The Hill said.

Mr. Nugent originally made the remarks in an interview with Guns.com. His full statement: “I have obviously failed to galvanize and prod, if not shame, enough Americans to be ever vigilant not to let a Chicago communist-raised, communist-educated, communist-nurtured subhuman mongrel like the ACORN community organizer gangster Barack Hussein Obama to weasel his way into the top office of authority in the United States of America.”

No, he didn’t. Uncle Ted leaves the LYING to Obama. It’s the one thing he knows how to do.
I stand corrected. Ted just apologized live on the radio WBAP, Newstalk 820am, Dallas/Ft. Worth, on behalf of Rick Perry and Ted Cruz, the true professionals he is learning from and said he will attempt to raise the level of his vernacular to a more understandable level people can understand.
I once thought I couldn’t despise anymore than Bill and Hillery, Obama beats that by a mile.
And is Nugent in politics? I think not.
I don't think we will ever learn that playing by the Marquess of Queensberry rules does absolutely nothing to help OUR side.
” raise the level of his vernacular to a more understandable level people can understand.” ....I (T.N.) did not mean to use the word ‘mongrel’. What I meant was ‘lying douche-nozzle’.
IMHO: Private Citizen = Free Speech = STFU R.P/R.P. Otherwise, let Dumbo TRY to sue T.N. for libel/slander
I know what you mean.
As soon as Obama apologies... for EVERYTHING
Ted Nugent for president? NOT! He is entertaining and a loose cannon. Why ANY candidate would have Ted associated with their campaign is beyond me.
While what Ted said is true, and I’m a big believer in “Truth”, but we need to maintain civility. Calling the president names like “mongrel” is uncivilized and counter productive. (Are we not all “mongrels”).
It was meant to be a derogatory description insinuating that it’s bad enough that the president is a Negro, but he’s only a partial Negro, a “mixed breed”, a term usually associated to DOGS.
Where in public discourse is this type of speech about anyone, let alone the President of the United States, acceptable?
I can’t stand Obama. He makes me want to PUKE! I can’t watch him on TV , I change the channel. I think he is a racist, Communist, Marxist, Socialist, Muslim, trying to destroy America. I think he is a FRAUD ineligible to the office he holds, yet despises. He is destroying our economy at home and our standing abroad. He has angered all our allies and sucks up to terrorists and our enemies every chance he gets. I think he is a homosexual or at least a bi-sexual pervert as reported by many. He is a DISASTER for this country and the world.
I have not called him names, just stating the facts as I see them, and have evidence for. BUT I am not affiliated with any campaign. I am not scheduled to appear at any rally for any candidate. It’s just me, talking to a few million of my associates.
This is NOT the SAME as what Ted Nugent did. If Ted Nugent wants to sponsor a concert or perform along with making disparaging remarks about Obama, it’s a free country. Let his fans decide, (Dixie Chicks). If he wants to make immature schoolyard taunts at Obama (The President of the United States), he can, but don’t drag civilized candidates into your mud puddle with you.
Rand Paul: Senator, Statesman. More like him, less like Ted Nugent.
I’m still waiting for Obama to apologize for things FAR MORE serious, for instance, using the IRS to target conservative groups.
Oh, and did Hillary apologize yet for allowing the murder of our ambassador?
These are far more serious than name calling.
How many times have leftists been asked to apologize for their comments?
His full statement: I have obviously failed to galvanize and prod, if not shame, enough Americans to be ever vigilant not to let a Chicago communist-raised, communist-educated, communist-nurtured subhuman mongrel like the ACORN community organizer gangster Barack Hussein Obama to weasel his way into the top office of authority in the United States of America.
In his quote, if he had left out “subhuman mongrel”, I would have no problem with it.
I’m fine with that part. It’s time we stopped mincing about the truth.
I am with Ted on this. We should have taken to the streets long ago, but our chains were too comfortable, but as they consolidate their power, the chains will gradually tighten.
I am not offended by the truth. No apology needed.
You are welcome to my part of him[Rand Paul] I will take Ted.
Darn it. I KNEW I was overlooking one. That was probably the best of the bunch of adjectives, too.
Politically-active conservatives who are smart learn after a while that when you want to go after the enemy's jugular and not get into trouble....THE STILETTO IS ALWAYS MORE EFFECTIVE THAN THE SLEDGEHAMMER.
