Fracking, a dangerous and destructive gas drilling technique, has used 250 billion gallons of water and 2 billion gallons of chemicals since 2005, according to a September report from Environment America Research & Policy Center, Environment Floridas national federation. Unfortunately, some of those same impacts may be coming to South Florida near Big Cypress and the western Everglades.
Last spring, an out-of-state drilling company applied for a permit to drill a 13,900 foot deep exploratory gas drilling well in close proximity to a relatively densely populated residential area known as Golden Gate, just miles from a string of parks created to preserve Big Cypress Swamp and the historic Everglades.
While the application has been approved, citizens still have the chance to stop this project by speaking out to local and federal officials. Environment Florida is working to build the momentum we need to keep special places, like Big Cypress and the Everglades, off-limits to dangerous and destructive drilling.
In the world they live in, everybody knows that fracking is dangerous and destructive. Of course it’s not the real world, and facts are irrelevant.
OR, there is another possibility. Perhaps these people would rather live in a world where the USA’s energy needs can only be met by those who want to destroy us.
Stupid or Evil? You be the judge.
“Environmental Florida” and their sister organization,
“Environment Florida Research & Policy Center” - are tree hugger’s wet dream. Lots of anti-fracking articles there:

and
http://www.environmentfloridacenter.org/ (globull warming fans - staff of one, Elizabeth Ouzts, who seems to be all over the environmental map in many states, not just Florida)
Dunno who is behind them but with “policy center” in the name, you can bet the farm it will be the Lefties, with probably the sugar interests not far behind.
Thanks for the research..your assessment is likely correct..
EVIL!! With the help of useful idiots.
They “frack” shale because it’s not permeable.
Limestone is so permeable it is prone to sinkholes. It comes from the factory pre-fracked. An oil company interested in wasting a tremendous amount of money for no good reason might decide to do it here, but it’s unlikely.
My comments were based on a prior poster and then that poster’s comment being negated. You have informed me and based on this evidence I have no argument.
I will say however im skeptical of all politicians no matter party. I am heavy conservative. 5 years in The Corps and you can smell a hint of B.S. amongst many.

That is a wise stance to take.
Cheers!
The whole premise was overblown about people "hating" on her (my words, but that was the idea expresed). Mostly people were bored. She was a great congress critter, a good conservative in most ways, but a poor presidential candidate. Probably a nice lady as well.
I thought we were talking about folks not accepting drilling in the Everglades, not focused on a hate of Bach Mann.
Sorry you didn't notice.
I'm all for drilling everywhere, including under my beloved Lake Michigan.
I guess we focused on different parts of the same sentence.
Cheers.
