Letter to the editor
Today's Courant says that there could be as many as 330,000 people with assault weapons who refused to register them according to the law [Feb. 11, Page 1, "Thousands Ignore Law On Gun Registration"]. Then now is the time to increase the penalty and start rounding them up.
At the first sign that someone has an illegal weapon , they should be immediately tried and imprisoned. These are the people we must be worried and concerned about -- the ones who need to keep their ownership secret.
Something wrong when they refuse to obey the law -- a law necessary for the safety of the rest of us and our children. Lots of laws are not pleasant, but we do not deliberately break them.
Pam Bergren, East Hartford
That silliness is about as effective as playing the Nazi card. Try again.
a gun owner cannot be “illegal”. they have undocumented weapons.
Pam,
I absolutely hope they try your treasonous statement, then we can finally begin the end of this drawn out saga. You will not like the results, and I sincerely hope that once the ending has arrived, you will be one of many who suffer the fate of a tyrant wannabee.
Exactly.
Oops - my bad! According to http://www.mylife.com/pambergren this useful idiot is a nurse, who used to live in San Antonia, TX.
Good on ya TX: You exported an idiot to the blue Northeast.
“...could be as many as 330,000 people with assault weapons who refused to register them according to the law...”
Refreshing to hear some good news once in awhile.

Sounds like “Pam” is ripe to have a drop gun
planted in her house, let her explain that
from prison.
330,000 is a lot of civil disobedience.

Thanks! I read that a couple of days ago. Nothing like a coherent takedown of the treasonous and the fence-sitters by Mike Vanderboegh!
So tell me Pam, have 330,000 assault weapons been used in crimes? Seems to me you should be happy to have these weapons in your small state in undisclosed locations. It might be helpful when the neighborhood is invaded. Or perhaps you never heard why the Japanese never invaded America during WWII. Throughout our history it is gun ownership that has kept us free. Like it or not, it’s needed to maintain freedom. Without it, people like you will take away my right to vote, eat what I want, steal my savings to redistribute it someone who never worked or hasn’t worked 50 years, etc.
We don’t imprison people for stupidity and ignorance either, but maybe we should start, huh, Pam?
And yet I'm sure this bitch has no problems with illegal aliens.
What of legal gun owners who had the law changed since they were in good stead Pammy?
Hang ‘em high?
Golly.
Oh give this poor child your love. After all who are we to judge. That’s the sole province of liberals. Just line up and let them tell you what you should do, what you should eat, when you can smile, when you should be sad. Wouldn’t it be better if someone else ruled your miserable life? Aren’t you tired of making decisions? Don’t you want a “higher” power to show you the way?
Good God what kind of nation have we become when this drivel is even taken seriously?
Sarah Barracuda :"Hitler said the same thing .
The state must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people.
As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children,
the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation.

“Something wrong when they refuse to obey the law”
Yeah, just like in 1776 when the “then residents of New England” were into “civil disobedience” that involved guns. If this a$$hat had been representative of the inhabitants there then, there would not have ever been a United States of America. O’Reilly (sorry to have to use that name, but in this instance he’s right on) is saying that the bulk of “Americans” today are stupid and self-absorbed. And we dare to comment on the procreation habits of the Muzzies! Our gene pool is right behind them, sorry to say.
Pamela.
That’s ballsy.
