Taken as a percentage of total volume moved, it's peanuts.
Pipeline spills are rare and usually comparatively contained.
Compared to other modes of transport, the accidents are infinitesimal.
And, if the spill occurs on your property, you're compensated appropriately.
More than half of it occurred in three states Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana where more pipelines exist.
And, last I heard, the folks in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana fully support the Keystone XL project. Because they understand the risks involved...and that the reward to the economy will far exceed those risks.
You anti-fracing, too...???
So you are at best, a socialist.
So be it. Get some sleep. I know that long hours does funny tricks to the brain.
So one last time.
I have expressed concerns about private property being seized by government as well as concern for property damage that may result from any spills.
The general response back have been posters questioning my maturity and logic as well as questioning my regard for freemarkets, energy independence and job creation. Additionally, I have had posters say there is no impact to having a pipeline run thru your property.
Each time I list examples to counter a lob...I am told it is not significant. I am saying if it is YOUR property...you might think another way.
Not sure why what I am saying is so controversial. We will just have to disagree on this issue.
Kate, if it were MY property, as soon as I was satisfied the offer was comparable to the going rate, I'd sign the lease, deposit the check...and not worry about it.
Which is exactly what about 99.8% of property owners do...
I'm not gonna worry about that remaining 0.2%, either, unless they gum up the wheels of progress...and screw up the deal for everybody else.
True, build it through Wyoming, they have oil fields and refineries.
You are reading my mind again Rock! Who needs Nebraska and their crooked judges.?
oh well ... strange you went to something you know is not true.
I’m not sure you know what you are talking about.
We have thousands of oil wells here in Colorado and no one has had their property confiscated.
You have no idea what you are talking about.
Wyoming is only a short distance, 100 miles or so West of there.
Ska-rew Nebraska’s Sierra Club Communists.
Exactly!
Curiously I searched really hard for any info on that judge and must be looking in all the wrong places cause I found zippo.
In other words, private property rights mean nothing to you. Perhaps China might be a more appropriate place for you to reside, then.
Strange you also choose to say or type something untrue regarding me. I’ll not hold it against you. You are allow your opinion and notice I’m not attacking you.
