I think the GOP is missing the boat with the heavy metal /hard rock crowd. Its a sizable segment of the population that has slid conservative as we've aged.



Mustaine has gotten in big arguments over his opposition to gay marriage. He's known for having anti Christian and truly satanic bands thrown off tours. About a year ago he got in a big fight with liberals who called him greedy because he was looking at ranches in Texas (And taking his money out of California). Just the other day he tweeted that he was reading Charles Krauthamer's new book on his flight to India.

Their "music" isn't very good, but at least this guy is on the right track. But Obama hasn't needed distractions, he is pretty much doing a lot of this out in the open and daring someone to do something about it. The GOP, of course, is cowering in the closet, and so it goes.

True, but as a Christian, I imagine you wouldn’t exactly be on the edge of your seat for them to play songs with the lyrics I posted above either. If they are becoming more Christian as a whole, i still wonder what happens when fans expect some of the songs with lyrics I posted above, if you had the chance to see any of them.

While I think that Davis is catching on, I don’t believe Oblunder is directly using Miley, Kanye, or the others. I believe that it’s the media and their drive for the sensational, juicy, train wreck of a story they like then double like as it allows them to give Obama cover. And that Obama gladly accepts.

I don’t know about Obama, but the media certainly has a subversion agenda.

Not long ago Cher critiqued Cyrus, not for content, just appearance. It was a few off hand comments that weren’t by any means a condemnation. She said among other things that if Cyrus wanted to stick her tongue out so often she might well clean it with a toothbrush at least. Well, if you remember Cher got the memo quick and was apologizing profusely within 24 hours.

Criticizing the current vanguard of subversion is NOT tolerated on the left. If you make your living in music/arts you learn that lesson well or you suffer the consequences. As Rush Limbaugh says, if media makes you, they can break you.

Funny because except for Fieldy, they were all kind of quiet. Jonathan just said hi & then left pretty quick. They came & hung out with us at our table after one of their shows. Mostly talked with Fieldy and Brian.
I think David still lives in Huntington Beach, owned a really good sushi bar for years on Main street but now closed. Fieldy lives in Long Beach.
If I had to guess, probably more conservative now.
