>> Can we attract their votes without watering down our values?
That depends. What do “we” have to OFFER “them” in order to buy their vote?
Do they expect approval or endorsement of their sexual perversion? Sorry — no can do — and it’s not my choice, it’s a COMMANDMENT of ALMIGHTY GOD, Whom “me and my house” obey.
Now, if you’re saying “can’t we just avoid running off individuals who happen to be homo but keep that fact to themselves and otherwise mind their own business”? Yes, we probably COULD and SHOULD do that. In the same way that a homo who understands he’s engaging in behavior proscribed by GOD is welcome in the pew of a Christian church. (Just not the clergy, thank you very much.)
But then... that’s never how it is, is it? The homos don’t keep a low profile. Instead they band together into PRESSURE GROUPS with catchy names like “GOPProud”. What exactly do you think they’re proud of? Proud of conservatism? Hell no. Proud of their PERVERSION. And chomping at the bit to “mainstream” it and “celebrate” it. And get laws passed legitimizing it and criminalizing those who are against it.
Letting that camel’s nose under the tent is a BIG mistake. Mark my words.
Good post. Nailed it right there.
Here's a question to consider for all those eager for "inclusion": if they don't have an agenda, if they aren't trying to change the GOP from within (if there's anything much to change anyway) why do they have that name at all? They can only be "proud" of one thing, their homosexual behavior, not being "conservative". Otherwise, why don't they just identify as "Republican", and leave their sexuality at home (where it should be)?
