My guess is Irena could care less about the Nobel peace prize. All she cared about obviously were those children.
At any rate, we have reached the point were an honest and decent person, if ever awarded the prize again, could sue the Nobel committee for defamation of character.

Ideology trumps achievement for the Nobel Peace Prize. Has for years. Remember when Carter won it, just to stick a thumb in George W. Bush’s eye? I do. The committee said so at the time.
