Police worked a crime scene all night at 1538 E. Stanford St. as they investigated the kidnapping and murder of 10-year-old Hailey Owens. She was taken from the 3200 block of West Lombard Street as she walked from a friend's home to her home two blocks away late Tuesday afternoon.

Every employee at that school needs to be re-checked out. Often people who hire - hire the same types...

You know, I just noticed on my FB page a photo of a guy in a McDs that had asked two young boys their names and addresses. Mother took a pic of him with her cell, good thinking. Cops couldn’t do much, but it got posted on FB and people in the area are sharing it. He will be outed. Nice use of FB, BTW. I like it. Of course, she will eventually be charged with bullying.
I join in your prayers for the family.
God forgive me for what I wish to ask for the murderer
It is the hallmark of old stoners who never got their head out of 1968...

Yep.
If he was, I wonder if the union will support him? Hmm, I guess that's a pretty dumb question, huh?
Yep!
Statement from Springfield School District Superintendent Norm Ridder on Wednesday morning:
Last night we learned the terrible news that one of our students had been abducted near her home. This morning our sadness is compounded by the recent developments in the case of Hailey Owens’ abduction.
The suspect in this case, Craig Michael Wood, was arrested by Springfield Police Department. Wood has been employed by SPS since Aug. 18, 1998. He works as a paraprofessional and athletic coach at Pleasant View K-8 School. His employment has been suspended until this matter is resolved.
Hailey is a student at Westport Elementary School and last year she attended Bowerman Elementary School.
I offer my support to Hailey’s family and to our SPS community. Students and staff at three of our schools are coping with this situation. To support these school communities directly impacted by this tragedy, I have assigned additional counseling staff and school police officers to be on hand until further notice.
We are fully cooperating with law enforcement officials as their investigation continues. Because this is an ongoing investigation, I will not be making any further comments about the situation at this time.

Good post, and you’re right!
Man has an evil and wicked heart. Only our fear of God holds us back from doing what we would prefer to do.
As God is shoved out of our republic, one result is that man loses his fear of God, and enjoys acts of depravity.
The ONLY thing that will save America, is inviting Him back again...
Yep!!! That’s exactly right!
Amen. Come Lord Jesus.
...and yes, I am serious. I'll be the executioner by this method.
If only. There are scum attorneys who will spend the next 25 years defending the scum and appealing his death sentence.
We've got a guy on death row - Michael Taylor. He raped, tortured, and murdered a 15 year old about 25 years ago and he's finally up for execution. But his lawyers have found a new tactic to gum up the works. Missouri uses lethal injection. What most people don't realize is that since major pharmaceutical firms won't get their hands dirty in this area, all states depend on small, mom-and-pop companies to prepare and sell the chemicals used in the execution. Well Taylor's crack legal team have now gone after the company that they believe supply Missouri with the drugs we use, and as a result the state doesn't have the stuff it needs for the execution. They are in court claiming that whatever phenobarbital the state has must have passed the expiration date and using it might cause undue suffering to Taylor. Not a word, you note, about Ann Harrison, his victim. She was 15 when killed. She'd be 40 today. Unbelievable.
Wow.
