AUSTIN With early voting opening Tuesday, Feb 18, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn angrily attacked Ted Cruz in an interview with The Austin American Statesman, declaring Cruz bad for America and boasting I dont have any regret about voting to raise Obamas debt limit Feb. 12.
A testy Cornyn, speaking with the liberal newspaper last week, declared Cruzs opposition to raising Obamas debt limit bad for the economy, bad for the American people. Cornyn continued to attack Cruz, telling reporters he chose the ugly alternative when Cruz announced he would not support an increase in Obamas debt limit.
Cornyn faces conservative Republican U.S. Congressman Steve Stockman in the Republican primary. A Human Events poll released Monday shows Cornyn will not win the primary, and would face Stockman in a runoff. Early voting starts today.
In January, Cornyn also attacked Cruz in an interview with Texas Monthly, telling the magazine he had hoped he taught a lesson to Cruz by voting to kill his filibuster of Obamacare.
I hope well be less confrontational, said Cornyn, who voted with Democrats twice to fully fund Obamacare.
If 41 Republicans had stood together and just voted `no, the clean debt ceiling, the bank check President Obama and Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi want, would have been denied, Cruz said on Marc Levins radio show Thursday night.
When asked by the paper if he was worried about angering Republicans by voting with Democrats again, Cornyn stated It was certainly an uncomfortable moment, but I dont have any regret about the decision. Cornyn told the paper that voting with Obama is a sign Republicans are capable of governing.

Cruz bump.
We loves you! That's why we're leaving.
Cruz is one of the few trying to save, rather than deep 6 our nation, in the Senate.
Cornyn is the threat.
Corny take a long walk off a short pier
Senator Cruz:
Isn’t it time to endsorse either Stockman or Stovall and win one for the Gipper?
Just say the word, campaign with one of them, and you will be the Senior Senator from our great State.
That's good to know.
And that's the biggest pile or horse$hit ever.
The first thing the 'Pubs do when they get into power is to agree with Dems on a "power sharing" scheme that castrates them even before they gavel the session.
Establish Republicans don't know the first thing about governance, only about surrender.
And as a Texan it makes me wince to say it... Cornyn's a surrender monkey.
Cornyn comes out in support of McConnell's wish to squash the?TEA Party like a bug.
What has Cornyn done to fix the US in the last 12 years?
That is my goal for the immediate future.... Senior Senator from TEXAS, TED CRUZ.
Next up: Senate Majority Leader, TED CRUZ.
Let’s do this, people!
This guy has to go.

Let me be perfectly clear on this. I have NEVER voted for ANY candidate to go to their Office only to play nice with the Enemy. NEVER. Make no mistake about this, I view the RAT Party as the Enemy.
John Wayne McCornyn has proven himself to be a Spineless, Unprincipled, Back-Stabbing, Quisling that is not worthy of remaining in the Senate.
Th only reason Cornyn slithered out of the sewer to vote is because he could not force others to do the dirty work for him and his “buddy” mitch the turtle”.
Cornyn plays defense (covering for weak-kneed repubs).
Cruz plays offense.
Time for Cornboy to go.
That stupid assertion ought to be enough to bury the idiot incumbent senator. Like all RINOs he is utterly clueless.
With republicans like John Cornyn and John McCain who needs democrats?
Ewcsray John Cornyn.
Cruz is in his head!
Nothing against Stockman or for Cornyn, but I did not see a single quotation where he describes Cruz as a “threat to the nation”. If he made one, it should have been in the article.
