That’s just it. Dealing with malcontents usually only takes a couple of minutes out of your day, if you choose to not interact with them. Usually, if it takes longer, it’s because you’ve chosen to sink to their level and try to outdo them.

the blacks rage, like David Dinkins did in the Crown Heights riot.
End Result 340,000 New Yorkers moved out of the City. Also,
a strong Anti crime mayor Rudy Guiliani replaced failed Dinkins.
New York has no carry laws, elsewhere people would have started protecting themselves. And look at the rate of handgun ownership as people getting afraid in huge numbers.
Given the average person involved in these situations, I’ll bet that (at least prior to the Zimmerman case) 90% of those involved had no idea if their state had a “stand-your-ground law” in effect.
There are always exceptions, but more often it goes even further the other way: I recall vividly, many years ago, being accosted by 2 young thugs (both of whom were about 1.5x my size.) They had somehow mistaken me for a “narc”. I can guarantee you, I might know my legal rights better than most people, but at the time, that was the last thing that would have come to mind...
A professor is one who has an agenda to profess. I kind of like the ancient Greek education system. The teacher only got paid after the student or their parents thought that something of use had been learned.
