In first, Minnesota poll finds Obama unpopular (43% Approval Rating)

Half of the residents of Minnesota now disapprove of President Obama’s performance, according to a new poll.

Results of The Star Tribune survey represent the first time that his approval rating has turned negative in the state since the president took office in 2009.

Obama’s job approval rating in the poll has fallen to 43 percent.

Men had an especially unfavorable opinion of the president. According to the poll, 60 percent of Minnesotan men disapproved of his job performance, compared to 40 percent of women in the state. People under 34 had the highest approval rating for Obama, with 59 percent saying they thought he was doing a good job in office.

The statewide poll reflects a broader disapproval of the president that has been swelling across the country. Current national polls show Obama’s approval rating is among the lowest it has been while he has been in the White House.

Gallup’s daily tracking poll has shown that the American public’s approval of the president has waned since a recent peak shortly after the 2012 election. According to that national poll, 53 percent of the nation disapproved of Obama's performance, while just 41 percent approved.

Obama easily won Minnesota in both the 2012 and 2008 elections. He won 53 percent of the vote against former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R) in 2012, and got 54 percent in state in 2008, against Republican nominee Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).

He couldn’t be any lower with us.

These plummeting polls are coming from Leftists growing disenchanted that he’s effed-up their once in a lifetime chance at Socialist Nirvana.

Two things noteworthy about this poll:

43% approval rate is not much lower than the 47% that Romney said will robotically vote for a socialist no matter what.

59% of young people (in Minnesota) still approve of Obama’s performance. Even with high unemployment and very certain underemployment, a significant portion of the X-box generation is still stuck on stupid.

Hubert Humphrey.

"Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of citizens to keep and bear arms.... The right of citizens to bear arms is just one guarantee against arbitrary government, one more safeguard against the tyranny which now appears remote in America but which historically has proven to be always possible. "Good now they can replace their Joke of a Senator."

The logical thing to do would be to link Franken to Obamacare as the 60th vote and to attack him on his otherwise non-existent record, etc.

But unfortunately, I don't think the GOP-e will understand that- lots of people originally thought Franken would be his usual loudmouth clown self in the Senate, but he has largely stayed under the radar (meaning he has employed the main tactic that GOP-e candidates like to use- be bland and don't make "gaffes"). The GOP-e has no clue how to attack somebody like that- so, they will probably pick another bland, left-leaning RINO, and inevitably they will lose...

Franken has made a LOT of Gaffes- from rebuking his OWN
party leaders!- to telling Mclame to sit down!

He is a staunch Marxist- who HATES America— guess what-?

The GOP in Minnesota is Demon lite- how about the last
election for Governor:
“Former two-term Gov. Arne Carlson and three-term Sen. Dave Durenberger, both Republican moderates, have endorsed Horner
An independant third party candidate!”

AND quite a few Republicans worked AGAINST Michelle Bachman

We are the New York of the midwest (well maybe Chicago has us beat)

I’m sure ballot boxes filled with Franken ballots are ready just like they were when Franken stole the last election.

Here is the tale of the tape on Frankens potential opponants.

Jim Abler is the obvious choice however in the interest of full disclosure Abler is also responsible for siding with the Dems in the largest gas tax hike in Minnesota history.

I see and talk to Jim regularly and attempted to get a pledge from him that he would not raise taxes.

He refused.

Meh.
