Cornyn votes against raising the debt ceiling

U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) issued the following statement after voting against raising the debt ceiling.

“After five years of out-of-control White House spending, including a jobless, trillion-dollar stimulus, now is hardly the time to give the President carte blanche to continue his spending spree. I voted against raising the debt ceiling because we need sensible reforms to cut down on spending and restrain Washington going forward.”

The word has gone out far and wide among TEA Party conservatives in Texas that John Cornyn is a phony, backstabbing politician who has been completely co-opted by the big-government Washington DC culture.

Early voting in the Texas Primary begins next Tuesday (February 18). I pray my fellow Texas Republican voters will be reciting their ABCs in the voting booth.

Thanks, it seems to me that at least some polling agency would have done a public poll
but none exist that I can find. I’m sure at a minimun that Cornyn has. Maybe that is why
he’s blanketing the media with ads. Who knows but we’ll know in about 17 days as
Mar. 4 is fast approaching.
