Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) explained fellow Republican senators anger over his filibuster of the debt ceiling vote by saying that they hate being forced to tell the truth.
In the 13 months Ive been in the Senate it has become apparent to me the single thing that Republican politicians hate and fear the most, and that is when theyre forced to tell the truth. It makes their heads explode, Cruz told radio host Mark Levin Thursday.

Cruz tried to filibuster a vote in the Senate to raise the debt ceiling Wednesday, forcing the approval of 60 senators instead of a simple majority. That required Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to take a politically risky vote in favor of the increase. Make no mistake about it, this was their desired outcome, Cruz said. A lot of the Republicans wanted exactly what Barack Obama wanted, exactly what Nancy Pelosi wanted, exactly what Harry Reid wanted, which is to raise the debt ceiling, but they wanted to be able to tell what they view as their foolish, gullible constituents back home they didnt do it.
Cruz pointed out that in the weeks before, Republican senators had been saying that they wanted concessions attached to the increase, not the clean bill that ended up passing.
Its like they think the American people are just a bunch of rubes, that we dont remember what they say, Cruz said.

Hallelujah: Cruz for President in 2016!
Folks, remember this when your fellow freepers tell you that we have to vote for lesser evils no matter what and then attack those that disagree. Because all they are is an extension of the GOPe if not outright working for them.
The guy buys ad time on KTRH 740-AM, running his lying ads on Michael Berry's radio program, only to be mocked, exposed, and laughed at by Berry's T.E.A. Party Conservatives.
If the people are so dumb and have such short memories then what are they afraid of?
I find our two RINO senators only slightly less loathesome than the Dems. With a conservative rating of between 63% and 65% they might as well be Dems. That is why I am excited about voting for Dr. Paul Broun for Senator to replace Chambliss who put his finger in the wind and realized it was time to retire.
Lord, please let this man be our presidential candidate.
McCain has no reason to think otherwise
Reid has no reason to think otherwise
the list goes on and on.
the senate by DC for DC
Here is the body of an email I just sent to Hatch. Course he will never respond.
“How disappointing you are. I knew you were lying when you tried to make Mark Levin believe you were conservative. And now because of your dishonesty you have lost one of Americas greatest patriots.
And this week you showed your true colors”
You have to check out the comments on the website link. Morons. They have no clue as to his background - ethnically, the Canadian thing (non-issue), educationally (really impressive) or experience.
Cruz, to me, is a little like Gingrich. If you listen to Newt, he made perfect sense. But the press hated him so much, the low information folks never heard him. I fear this is what is happening to Cruz.
The guy is a genius and leader, but all the left (and establishment GOP) is saying is that he is the guy that shut the government down (like that is a bad thing). Notice, the same press corps (who were laid off) never really mentioned that all those poor federal workers ended up being paid in full (again) and a bunch even got unemployment payments (another story that died).
I hope he can break through the MSM filter. He is really terrific.
The senators are right about foolish, gullible constituents look how many time the reelected them.
Ted Cruz Ping!
If you want to get on/off this ping list, please let me know.
Please beware, this is a high-volume ping list!
Something that has always stuck with me was when my Congressman told me "When I visit my district, I hold town halls in order to keep my finger on the publics' pulse. When a Senator visits the state he represents, he only sees the Governor. That's the major difference between us."
Cruz: GOP senators think they have ‘foolish, gullible constituents’

and theyre right...
what else explains the constituents in TN returning Bob Corker and Lamar Alexander to Washington again and again..
Disclaimer: I moved to TN in 1986 so I never voted for Lamar for Gov of TN as the GOP nominee, and Ive never voted for him nor Corker for US Senate..
Cruz: Senators think they have ‘foolish, gullible constituents’
AND THEY DO..... thats how they got elected....
“Cruz doesnt just know the lyrics, he also has the tune down pat.”

He is proving to be a MAESTRO at handling the RINOs, Democrats and other progressives.
He will be a GREAT PRESIDENT who has the courage and integrity to save the Republic.
Good point on Reagan.
I’m talking about Gingrich years ago, right after the Republican Revolution. I think the book deal nonsense killed him first.
A good start to the reality of what the platform is becoming. I would add that it IS important to keep that platform, and equally important to make sure that the leaders and members strive to use it as a compass in their actions.
The sad part is, a lot of those with an (R) behind their names only pretend to support the platform. The interesting news is that there is no elected official anywhere who is conservative that doesn't have an (R) behind their name. It gives hope to the idea we could actually take the party back, it's the Reagan method. It's pretty clear that Cruz believes that as well.
Amen and pass the ammunition.
