WASHINGTON (AP) — Texas Sen. Ted Cruz sat with eyes glued to his mobile device as the chaos he provoked ensnared his Republican leaders on the Senate floor.

Legislation to raise the nation’s borrowing authority with no strings attached was short of the 60 votes it needed to advance — a threshold Cruz demanded — and without a few conversions, Republicans would be blamed for its failure. The stock market was watching.

Sure, keep on losing. See how that works out for you.

Look in the mirror.

If we spent half the energy and emotion on defeating Democrats that we spend on punishing less than pure Republicans we wouldn’t have the current abominations in the White House and Senate.

Given Reagan's actual philosophy of governing, shown by the quotes I have posted, do you really think he would be supportive of the current crop of cowards leading the GOP being in charge of both the Senate and House?

I don’t agree with everything he does but he has a 96% rating with the American Conservative Union and that’s way better than most.

Yeah, "conservative". He wants to "conserve" the status quo.

I think he’d be supportive of winning instead of jacking off into the wind.

It is your attitude of acceptance of the mediocre and unprincipled GOP-E that has led us to the losing position we find ourselves in today.

You, and those that think like you, are primarily to blame.

Hey Cotton,

Can you provide the true conservative rating for McConnell, you know the one that leaves out the Fake ACU rating and averages the more trustworthy Conservative Ratings agencies?

Winning at all costs. Let's see, I seem to recall what that's called. Oh yes, moral relativism. No central moral core beliefs. Reagan would find that repulsive.

Yes, but we need leadership, not compromise. We need to provide a clear difference between us and them.

Voters are attracted to leaders, not followers.

I don’t do FB. I will take your word for it, though. :-)

I just want to see Cornyn go down in flames.

Texas can and will do better.

“Reagan was adamantly opposed, and publically stated it, to moderates being in charge of the leadership of the GOP”.

And rightly so, I think-while everyone is used to the saying, the enemy of my enemy is my friend-the opposite corollary, the friend of my enemy is my enemy is just as true, and deserves just as much consideration, especially when you have those we elected to stop/block the waste of OUR money agreeing to write a blank check instead...

Republicans would be blamed for it’s failure. Isn’t that exactly what we wanted. McConnel looks like a little puppy dog caving into the alpha dogs wishes. Good riddance

Why, we're winning America's future! That's what the Democrats and their enablers, the GOP leadership, is leading us towards!

Of course, all the people who pull the lever for the "R" just because they're an "R" (and not a "D"), or who think that McConnell and Boehner are conservatives, are just as answerable for where we end up.

It’s not “winning” when they do the same things as the enemies of the nation.
