Even more, it is important to look at the fact that both nature and nurture (behavioral examples) can be pushed down generations, and not just genetics. Children have been shown to learn behaviors (binge drinking, drug abuse, anger, violence) from the treatment they get from a parent or significant role model, even when the person is an adoptive or a foster parent.

On the bright side, a person can be helped or encouraged to break the cycle.

What’s to say that children can’t learn sexual behaviors from a parental figure as well?
