As Texas land commissioner, Jerry Patterson was a staunchly conservative, hard-charging powerhouse. We didnt always agree with him, but he commanded respect. Too bad, now that hes running for lieutenant governor, the GOP primary doesnt boast a candidate of similar caliber. Voters must choose between the minimally experienced George P. Bush and his tea party opponent, David Watts. In this race, Bush is the better choice.
The 37-year-old energy consultant no doubt benefits from his familys political dynasty. But Bush told us that, while he respects his family, his persuasiveness on the campaign trail is what will sway voters toward him.
Although his answers sometimes reflect a lack of depth, we like others, such as his ideas for bringing in third-party auditors to ensure that the General Land Office is running as efficiently as it can, especially in regard to the administration of Veterans Land Board programs.
The job would stretch Bushs management background. The General Land Office has 620 staffers, oversees veterans housing and manages millions of acres of state holdings.

what if his last name was Crumpercake, would he still have their support?? Would he even be a contender for public office?? I presume the answer to both would likely be no. Time to stop this Bush dynasty crap.
Translation: Vote for someone with no qualifications except that he’s not backed by the TEA Party.
Fortunately, very few Texans are influenced by the big-city papers, all of which are liberal rags and out of touch with voters.
I would support Charles Manson over a Bush
BTTT!!
Go Watts...stay out da Bushes, y’all!

Informed voters recommend David Watts.
Actually, he's never given that a thought. People are such stand-patters.
Georgie P has the same resume Andrew Cuomo has - born on third and thinks he hit a triple... Same resume Chelsea Clinton used to get a job with CNN...
No, they don’t subscribe to as many newspapers as they once did, but given the choice between a Bush and an unknown, they will go with the Bush every time.
Yup.
As long as the Low Information Voter falls for the con-artists who run to feed at the public trough, we, the tax payers, will pay, pay, and pay - - - - .
I would bet that GPB has more relevant experience and common-sense for Land Commissioner than Obama had when he ran for President of the United States!

Okay. So, what’s your point?
Texans don't revere the Bush name. They still have a fondness for GW Bush because he was a good and decent man who loves his country.
Don't fool yourself that we conservatives supported his policies and performance as President. We didn't, but we don't dislike the man.
And you don't seem to disagree with that at all. As a matter of fact, you seem to be pushing that view on FR, with every post. Even your tagline promotes a win by the establishment.
Oh? Just like we accepted the RINO establishment's candidate in the last US Senate election?
Yeah....how's Senator David Dewhurst doing anyway?
I'll bet you'd like that, but it's a non sequitur reply, and typical of a GOP drone.
Tell me, do you support John Cornyn for a third term?
As a U.S. Senator, John Cornyn's performance in office affects all 50 states. Yes, your opinion does matter.
Perhaps you'd like to see David Dewhurst give it another whirl? What say you?
