For Republicans who want to repeal the Affordable Care Act, there is a major problem: many people may hate the law, but just as many like it.
The thing that bothers me is people constantly forget that all politics is local, and that theres great variation in the extent to which the law is accepted or is going to work. Its state by state, says Austin Frakt, an associate professor of public health at the Boston University School of Public Health and co-author of the popular Incidental Economist blog. Its not fair to say well repeal the whole thing because theres half the states that are cool with it.

Boo fookin’ hoo, if they like it they can pay for their very own version of it.
Those joining it are not the ones they need to join it!
Kinda hard to justify saying the folks who signed up actually like it. When there’s a gun to your head, saying “sign up or else”, you don’t get a lot of choice, and many aren’t willing to deal with the IRS penalty, so they sign up under duress.
This analysis, by Avalere Health, incorporates enrollment figures released on February 12, 2014, as well as updated state-specific tracking from publicly available resources. Projected enrollment is based on Avaleres proprietary enrollment model, reduced uniformly based on the Congressional Budget Office lowered projections.
Yep lower the projections and claim you are closer to meeting your goals. Another lie brought to you by the President known as Zero.
The ones who get subsidized like it, its the newest welfare program
Make it completely voluntary. It will mostly die on its own.
Good points.
Without the freedom to go without health insurance, people are forced to pay for a product they do not want or need, thereby placing the burden of their health care and health insurance on the tax payer instead of just paying doctors and hospitals with cash for ER visits and major surgery.
That is the problem, it is not state by state and it is not local.
It is from the federal Gov.
"one size ****'s all.
This shameless piece accepts the government’s 3.3m “signup” figure as real when they refuse to reveal how many of the “signups” have actually paid for a policy.
Yep - we’re all socialists now. :)
BS ALERT
Forbes is for big business. Health Insurance companies are big business. They helped Obama admin write ACA. Yep, write the laws to make people buy their products, a corporation wet dream come true but due to Fed stupidity the get rich scheme turned into a nightmare that needs to be salvaged. Insurance industry wants a modified ACA where US citizens are still required to buy their products. Health care and insurance companies are still trying to salvage their political/financial gamble on ACA. Problem is half the GOP reps get donations from the corporate donors. Big business may get their way.
is it really ‘signups’ when you’re being threatened with fines for not signing up?
the reality is, there are hundreds of millions risking imprisonment by not signing up due to the out of control costs
that’s just how much they hate it
They are big chumps if they think they are going to glide through this mess. How obvious can it get?
So far I have made Mom and Dad proud, except for that one night in jail which wasn't my fault, really.
I've found if you set your goals low you have a greater chance of achieving them which is better for your self esteem which is, of course, all that matters.
As obvious as Venezuela heading into starvation, they sent the army after protesters today, large protests, at least 3 dead, no Venezuelan media coverage. They even cut off a Colombian channel reporting on it from their DirecTV and blocked their internet site.
Almost as bad as a company blaming ObamaCare for layoffs.
I been posting here since 2011 that the GOP House should of passed a bill making all of Obama-care completely voluntary for each state as with the medicaid expansion, that all those House symbolic appeals would never get signed into law, and that the GOP repealing Obama care for all the Dems states that want it was just symbolic arrogance, much like Obama imposing it on all states( except he was successful).
Let states opt out and lets see what happens. A full repeal was never in the cards.
Da comrade! Pass the vodka!
*cries for whiskey*
