WASHINGTON, D.C. —U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) issued the following statement after voting against raising the debt ceiling.

“After five years of out-of-control White House spending, including a jobless, trillion-dollar stimulus, now is hardly the time to give the President carte blanche to continue his spending spree. I voted against raising the debt ceiling because we need sensible reforms to cut down on spending and restrain Washington going forward.”

He voted for it before he voted against it.

Just like John F'n Kerry.

And its quite possible John Cornyn III called John F'n Kerry on that back in 2004!!! Ideally on video or at least on audio. Any Texan who can find such, please pass it along to your favorite primary opponent. Better yet, to all the primary opponents and to Sen. Cruz! The more guns firing the better to get him below 50%. Then all vote for the last opponent standing.

And you folks down in Tennessee should use Corker's vote against Lamar™. Everyone knows they're two peas in a plaid; he'd have voted the same if not for being primaried.

Johanns is retiring this year. Hatch won’t run again, but is the GOPe’s model for how RINOs should con their way past the Tea Party. The model won’t work again as the Tea Party learns faster than the GOPe. Sorry Mitch. Ditto Cornyn. Wyoming could have done better than Barrasso, but blew that chance with Cheney’s crash and burn run. Collins, alas, may be the best we can get out of Maine this year. The rest aren’t up this year. Of those, Kirk may the best we can get out of Illinois—consider his predecessor! The rest can be greatly improved, just not this year.

Vote for cloture and vote against a bill that is assured of passage...

I told my dad that Cornyn voted for cloture and he replied, “So he wanted it to pass” (knowing that his No vote later couldn’t stop it).

Cornyn was first elected to the senate in 2002 with the Bush wave. The Bush administration provided cover for RINOs like Cornyn for 8 years.

It’s only been 5 years since CNBC’s Rick Santelli on February 19, 2009 referenced the Tea Party in protest against Obama’s mortgage bailout.

Cornyn was last elected before this event (2008) so this is the first election he is facing with Obama (or any Dem) as president and with the Tea Party in his face. It is a much different political world for Cornyn in Texas, where every single Republican candidate is touting conservative ideas.

Cheney was not going against Barasso in 2014, Enzi is the Wy senator who is up in 2014. Barasso is a big disappointment and will never get my vote.

Cornyn, YOU LIE!

After a bill is easily passed, the Senators in trouble with the voters can then change their votes to show they voted against the bill as long as their votes don’t change the original results.

The RINOs and LIBs have done this for years so they can claim they voted ‘against’ something that they first voted to pass.
